A city in the county of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri has the same name as the county -- Sainte Genevieve. The reason for its unique French name is because the city was found by French Canadian colonists. And that is why the structural design of the buildings in the city is dominated by French designs and the original setup of the homes built within the town is made of wood. A home normally has galleries or what we know as the porch which surrounds the home itself.
