Circa 1850. The full-time physician's placard is still affixed to the front of this 1850 Second Empire French Chateau with mansard roof. Though the exterior has remained much the same, the interior has been meticulously renovated. Hardwood floors, antique furnishings and the original staircase with turned spindles and mahogany banister exude a gentile ambiance that is accented by rich wall coverings, carpeting and classical music playing in the background. Luxury air-conditioned suites feature fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, ceiling fans and robes. A complete breakfast is served in the dining area or in the room. Afternoon refreshments are also provided. Enjoy one of the best views of Main Street from the inviting front porch. The small historic community is the oldest French settlement west of the Mississippi.
