This is an original recipe created by Marla at Flery Manor. Simple but elegant,"The Perfect Pear" Blushes in a heart shaped pool of Crème Brule sauce. Chocolate lovers can add a swirl of hot chocolate sauce. Truly decadent!!
Ingredients:
4 D'Anjou Pears
1 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup fresh wild blackberries
Directions:
Peel pears and cut in half lengthways leaving the stem and core in. Pour orange juice into a 9 x 11 baking dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon and allspice over juice. Add the berries to dish along with the cut pears, cut side down. Cover dish with foil. Bake in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. The berries in the poaching liquid rim the pears with a wonderful red color. When cool cut out core from each pear, but leave stem.
While pears are baking make your favorite Crème Brule recipe and when cool add cream to thin to sauce consistency.
To assemble, spoon sauce in a heart shape in center of plate. Place pear in center and add a few berries on the side.
