As you walk around town taste from the many healing mineral springs and take a historic walking tour given by the Manitou Springs Heritage Center. Don't miss the old Penny Arcade and many unique galleries and shop in this talented artist community. Many excellent hiking trails start with trail heads right in town, such as the Barr Trail and Intemann trail and Red Rock Canyon which also has great rock climbing. Our town has over 20 eclectic restaurants - don't miss the Craftwood Inn (known for its Colorado cuisine featuring wild game and bird), Adam's Mountain Cafe (Organic and vegetarian food), and the ever popular with the locals, Keg Lounge (Not your typical bar food). Within a mile you can explore the Cave of the Winds, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and Miramont Castle. A trip to the Pikes Peak area is not complete without visiting the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, United State Air Force Academy, United States Olympic Training Center and the famous Broadmoor Resort. Come join the residents and have fun at the annual Fruitcake Toss in January, the Commonwheel Arts and Crafts Festival in September and the Emma Crawford Coffin Races and Ghost Tours in October.
