Cheyenne sprang from the prairie in 1867 when the Union Pacific railroad reached here. The cattle men soon moved into Wyoming and northern Colorado establishing enormous ranches and living the good life here in the city. Enjoy a symphony, shop western clothing, art and antiques, rodeo, or belly up to the bar with a real cowboy. Ride the downtown carriage or take a tour on the Cheyenne Street Trolley. There are nine museums, the state capitol complex, the Union Pacific rail yard, and Big Boy the largest locomotive ever built. There is plenty to keep you interested for several days.
