Circa 1888. When this Victorian mansion was constructed, Cheyenne was the richest town in the world for its size. The home's brilliant architecture serves as a reminder of this grand time in the city's history. The home boasts meticulously restored woodwork, including a grand staircase adorned with an ornate gaslight. The cast bronze fireplaces are topped with mirrors that reach the ceilings. Bronze medallions were set in the front doors, and guests will find stained glass throughout the home. The home's parlor still includes two paintings commissioned by the home's first owner, Erasmus Nagle. Nagle made his fortune in both the grocery and cattle businesses. From 1915 until 1933, the home belonged to Senator F.E. Warren and his wife. The mansion is in the National Register as well as being listed in the Smithsonian Guide to Historic America.

Historic Interest

The Nagle Warren Mansion represents the period when the landed European gentry were comming to the west, establishing enormous ranches, and living on Seventeenth Street in Cheyenne. The term Cattle Barrons Row started here. The Nagle was the last great home to be built on the street. Senator F. E. Warren purchased the home and lived here for 20 years, hosting numerous dignitaries. Today the home has been restored to it's original elegance.

The Nagel Warren Mansion is a step back in time to days long ago, where class and beauty come together to create an elegant vacation destination in Cheyenne, Wyoming. We go for "Tea" once a year just to experience the elegance of a time gone by. I'm looking forward to experiencing this Christmas Tea tradition! MLRex

We were so fortunate to find this beautiful Mansion in which to have our intimate wedding (they have several plans to choose for your event) and spend our wedding night. Everything was just perfect and the next several days were greater than any honeymoon imaginable. The Mansion, staff, food and other guests made for a perfect wedding experience. Thanks Jim and Jane for making it so! We can't wait to return this July (2010) for our first anniversary!

InnSide Tip - Be Prepared To . . .
Change some travel plans. Once you're there and you see how wonderful it is, be prepared to want to stay longer. You won't be sorry. We were driving so we were able to change things up and stay to enjoy all there is to see during Cheyenne Frontier Days!
