Best Inn Ever!

We stayed at the Woodstocker Inn for my son's graduation from Dartmouth College. The hotel accommodations closer to the College were exorbitantly expensive and we needed rooms for about 11 family members traveling from the Chicago area. Dora and David are welcoming and hospitable. David was very helpful in selecting appropriate rooms for the grandmothers in our party. Although the inn is beautifully appointed and decorated it is also extremely comfortable. The breakfast is superb! Dora and David are friendly and engaging. Our entire party hopes to return to the Woodstocker Inn for a more leisurely visit.

Woodstocker Inn is a charming,...

Our service was highlighted by attention to detail with an ecologically minded intention. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. A rich breakfast was served promptly each morning when we requested, accompanied by interesting conversation with the innkeepers. We loved the decor - the extensive collection of books - and the clean wood floors, made possible by the rule to remove outdoor shoes when entering the facility. The Inn was a pleasant walk to the town center and an even shorter walk to the trails leading up Mount Tom, directly behind the Inn. We weren't particularly impressed with some of the breakfast foods, (black/white pudding, sausages), although the innkeepers were very accomodating in preparing the portions we requested (one of us doesn't eat much). The organic muesli and yogurt with homemade fruit compote was great, however. We also like the fact that everything served was organic and, when possible, locally produced.

This is the most fantastic bed & br

We loved everything about the Woodstocker. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and quite interesting characters! Our room was outstanding. We loved the double bathtubs and the lighting in the rooms. Breakfast was unlike anything we have been served in the US; it was very British and absolutely delicious. We appreciated the fact that much of the food came from local suppliers. The library is full of fascinating books and is very comfortable. The fireplace in the guest area made our stay extra cosy. We also loved the afternoon fruitcake!

Brilliant whimsical lodging

This inn deserves all it's awards as it sets a new standard. The inn has been transformed from a traditional establishment into an indulgent modern lodging establishment. The rooms have incredible bathrooms, Chelsea the one we stayed in during April 2008 was incredible. The bath lit up!!!!!! The inn offers organic foods and has a wonderful 24 hours brew station with fridge and home made cakes. There is chocolate everywhere (so chocoholics beware!!!) and Stanley the inn hound is a cute loveable old thing who is partial to a sausage! David & Dora have indeed created a contemporary refreshing inn. Just look for the loudest yellow building in Woodstock!
