Description

Circa 1815. Drive up the country lane to a pastoral retreat filled with ponds and pastures. Accommodations are available for every style. Reserve a comfortably appointed room in the Main House. The Sugar House provides the opportunity for a true rustic vacation with an outhouse and views of the lower pond; the cabin is available year-round for those with a real adventurous spirit. RVs and campers are also welcome at a special site just for them with electric hookup, water hookup, and grey-water disposal. Go swimming, fishing, or canoeing in one of the two ponds. Sunbathe on a sandy beach far away from the ocean. Breathe the fresh Vermont air during a hike through 55 acres. Laze away the day on a hammock then feed the ducks or visit the horses at the Hooved Animal Sanctuary. The small town of Chelsea, Vermont, has the distinction of having two commons and a historic district listed in the National Register.

The Perfect Getaway

I was looking to get away from it all but with the option to reconnect if I chose to, and this is it. Far from the hustle and bustle but yet not remote. Lots to explore if you're adventurous. The place is clean and homely and Sara and Doc pay attention to whatever is important for your comfort. The serenity is heavenly, everything is green, the air is fresh and all the beef is grass-fed. A definite repeat.

Birthday

Dear Sara and Doc: Thank you for your amazing hospitality ! I don't have my own family in the US, but while staying with you it felt like visiting family. Thank you for taking care of the 55 acres -- it is breathtaking! ***************************** I couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to spend my birthday and want to thank you for your generous hospitality.

From The UK

Sara and Doc: Windswept Acres has been everything we had hoped for and more. We even had the privilege last night of a still evening: it's not always windswept. We have also been most impressed with the bird populationthat you attract here: we have learned a lot in a short time about American wildlife. You already have some excellent photos, but we will try and email you a couple of mine to add to your collection. Many thanks again for your hospitality and Windswept.

Like family

Doc & Sarah make you feel like family from the minute you walk in the door! The views are truly breathtaking. I am not sure where you will find any better views if you tried. It was our first B & B experience, and we absolutely loved it! We will go back again.
