Circa 1858. Feel welcomed by a canopy of majestic trees when entering into the historic district of Wilson, known as the Antique Capitol of North Carolina. The Whitehead Inn features four historic homes that sit among large shade trees and peaceful gardens. Lounge on one of the long verandas outside each house. Be surrounded by the sumptuous furnishings highlighted by rich architectural details and experience a charmed Victorian life once reserved for only the wealthy. Individually controlled heat and air-conditioned guest rooms and suites boast lavish amenities. The main event each morning is a scrumptious three-course breakfast served in two elegant dining rooms. Wine service is offered Friday and Saturday evenings. Four golf courses, numerous tennis courts and many fine restaurants are nearby.
