I am a big fan of B&B's and have stayed at many across the country - including a tugboat in Seattle. But, by far and away, the most romantic B&B I have ever stayed at was the Whale Watch Inn in Gualala. If you are lucky enough to be there during a Pacific storm, watching it sipping some wine, port or cognac in their main lounge, is surprisingly romantic.

“Spectacular!”
Whale Watch Inn

I have been to the Whale Watch inn 4 times now and love it. I just got back from another beautiful weekend there. They are located in a banana belt. We had fog all the way up the coast from SF until about 10 minutes south and it was sunny and clear. The owners are constantly making changes and upgrades to the place. The rooms are all uniquely decorated and only the finest linens. Every room has an ocean view. Mine had a sauna!
BOTTOM LINE: I would stay here again.
