Circa 1850. Taking its name from the location directly across from Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Wetlands, this historic building is thought to be the second oldest in Bald Eagle Valley. Remodeled, air-conditioned guest suites offer modern convenience with rustic charm. Stay in the first-floor Colonel Barnhart Suite with a Jacuzzi in the master bath or the second-floor Overlook Suite with two bedrooms. Each features a fully equipped kitchen with a stocked refrigerator with continental breakfast foods and beverages. English muffins, fresh fruit and coffee are also provided. Relax around the fire pit in the evening. A large canopy is available for parties up to 50 people during the summer through the end of football season. Bald Eagle State Park with a 1,730-acre lake offers water-based recreation. Sayers Dam is also nearby. Howard is only twenty minutes away from Penn State University.
