DeHaven Valley Inn

This farmhouse was built by Alexander Gordon, a prosperous sawmill owner and cattle rancher. A double-tiered porch wraps around the front and side of the house and extends across the wing, offering vistas of the ocean and the inn's 20 acres of meadows, woodland and coastal hills. A hillside hot tub provides a panoramic view of the valley. Guest rooms are in the main house and in cottages. The DeHaven Cottage features cabbage rose prints, a Franklin stove and a king-size bed. Dinner is served when at least six make reservations. There are farm animals, picnic areas, walking trails and a secluded beach.

Howard Creek Ranch

First settled as a land grant of thousands of acres, Howard Creek Ranch is now a 60-acre farm with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, sandy beaches and rolling mountains. A 75-foot bridge spans a creek that flows past barns and outbuildings to the beach 200 yards away. The farmhouse is surrounded by green lawns, an award-winning flower garden, and grazing cows, horses and llama. This rustic rural location offers antiques, a hot tub, sauna and heated pool. A traditional ranch breakfast is served each morning.
