Description

Circa 1830. The backyard of this three-story house stretches to the edge of Weskeag River and Ballyhac Cove. Fifty yards from the house, there's reversing white-water rapids, created by the 10-foot tide that narrows into the estuary. Guests often sit by the water's edge to watch the birds and the lobster fishermen. Sea kayakers can launch at the inn and explore the nearby coves and then paddle on to the ocean. The inn's furnishings include a mixture of comfortable antiques. Featherbed eggs are a house specialty.

Lovely place, nice owners

My husband and I stayed here during the Portland Lobster Fest and had awonderful stay. It was easy to get to the fest and away from the madenning crowd. Hazel and Gray were great hosts, breakfast was good and the room was comfortable and clean. We would stay there again if we travel to that side of the country.

InnSide Tip - It's a great stop over on one's way
Travel from Thomaston to Acadia National Park is less than two hours away, so it is a good spot to stop for the night, or stay for awhile.

Cute, Comfy, Clean, Friendly

We loved this inn. The proprietors were very friendly. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Hazel makes a great breakfast. Any time we go to Owls Head area we will stay there. We highly recommend it.

Welcoming and charming

We have stayed here on nights before taking the ferry out of Rockland, Maine to one of the islands. This is a very comfortable place to stay with large rooms and very welcoming hosts. Next door market with take out is very handy for an evening meal. Close to Rockland and all its arts and shopping. Convenient to the Owls Head Transportation Museum for sight seeing. A filling breakfast adds to a great stay. Ask to see the owner's collection of old cars!
