Waterloo is the seat of county government of Black Hawk County, Iowa. Once known as Prairie Rapids Crossing, it was established as a settlement by Cedar River. Since its establishment more people have come to live in the town until it grew into a modern city that it is today. Now, visitors from all over the country come to Waterloo to see its beautiful spots and mingle with its friendly people. One of the main points of interest is Grout Museum, which is a rich display of historical artifacts. This is located near several Waterloo bed and breakfast inns. Other important museums that should be visited are the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans, Snowden House, and Rensselaer Russell House Museum. Another favorite destination in Waterloo is the Bluedorn Science Imaginarium. For enjoying water sports and games, the Lost Island Water Park should be a worthy choice. By Wellington B&B.
