Circa 1828. Period antiques and reproductions furnish this restored 1828 Greek Revival plantation home. Enjoy the seven acres of natural beauty with rose gardens, fountains, a waterfall, stream and koi pond. Scattered seating with tables are shaded by magnolia, oak, dogwood, pecan, hickory, elm and crape myrtle. Relax on a porch rocker or wicker chair. Large, bright guest bedrooms feature lavish draperies, Oriental rugs, brass and crystal chandeliers and fireplaces. Generous upscale amenities pamper and please. Early risers partake of juice and goodies before a full-service Southern breakfast is provided daily. Lunch and dinner can be ordered in advance for an extra charge.

Historic Interest

Washington Plantation is an 1828 Greek Revival plantation manor. It was home to both Federal and Confederate statesmen, and armies wearing Blue and Gray camped on the grounds in 1865. President Jefferson Davis dined here while fleeing the Yankees, and signed the papers dissolving the Confederate Sates of America 1/4 mile from Washington Plantation.
