Circa 1902. Once the headquarters for a 2,900-acre cotton plantation, this three-story Greek Revival manor was built in 1902. Some of the home’s original furnishings, including mantel tops, mirrors, a bed and a quilt chest, are mixed with other antique pieces collected over the years or handed down as family heirlooms. Each of the six guest bedrooms reflects a different decorating scheme. A full breakfast is offered in the formal dining room that boasts vintage-style wallpaper. Six surrounding acres feature mature landscaping with 125-year-old English boxwoods, 110-year-old oaks and two of the state’s largest ginkgo and Japanese cryptomeria trees. Spend the day outlet and antique shopping or visit the world-renowned Bob Jones Art Gallery. Tour the BMW plant or Asheville’s Biltmore Estate only one hour away. Greenville and Spartanburg are nearby. The innkeepers will help make golf and dining reservations.
