Next Best Thing to Africa

Not that we have been to Africa, but this atmosphere felt like a "mini" trip to Africa. We were in Tent #2-The Big Cat House. This tent was the closest and best view to the elephant barns and the overall grounds (you can see them bathing the elephants both mornings). The tent was anything but...comfy heated king bed, fridge/coffee maker, TV/DVD player, full hot shower (just make it short), and more. 4pm animal visits were very entertaining and educational, but nothing beats being brough breakfast in the morning by an elephant. Wait, there is...getting to feed the elephant breakfast as it visits. First morning was Malika (she is the runt of the crew, but very affectionate). Second morning was the "big guy" Butch. Over 10 feet tall, and pics with him in the morning were just out of this world.

Valentine's Weekend Safari

Our first visit to this wonderful place was on Valentine's Weekend, 2010. We took the 1:00 tour, fed Buster the African Elephant & stayed one night in Giraffe Manor. The staff was friendly & helpful. The animals looked happy & well cared for. Our "tent" was clean & comfortable. We had such a GREAT time, we're going back in April & taking friends! Can't wait to return to this unique & awesome place! Jan & Kent

Unique and great experience

It was wonderful to be removed from the other guests, the animal chatter at night made you feel like you were in Africa and breakfast delivered by the elephant completed the experience. I highly recommend this experience.

February Visit

Unique, unforgettable experience. Up close and one on one interaction with exotic animals. Well worth the drive up from San Diego. In February, it was a bit chilly. But the heater in the tent and mattress heater made us comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower inside the tent. -Amazing what can be done with a tent. This is the fanciest tent I've ever seen! I did let my mind open to the suggestion that we had, by some miracle, arrived to an African Safari tent. We could hear the lions all night. A bit unnerving, but added to the fantasy. The elephants trumpeted the arrival of our breakfast delivery by paciderm parade. When is the last time you shared breakfast with an elephant? The animals are very well taken care of. Super clean environment for them The quality of the experience rivals Disney's attention to detail. I will recommend this adventure to my friends...and to anyone wanting to get the flavor of a wilderness encampment in Africa without having to get a passport or immunizations. Cheri

My Dream Come True

My 67th birthday surprise was a stay at Vision Quest. Complete with the Pachyderm Package! I have loved elephants all of my life. Always had a dream to simply touch one. Well, I not only touched Butch I gave him a bath, fed him and got to put him to bed. I hugged him as hard as I could, walked underneath him and somehow managed to keep the tears in check. This magnificent 5 & 1/2 ton gentle giant confirmed everything I have always known about these wonderful creatures. Kelly, our guide taught us about all of the animals at Vision Quest and stayed with us the entire tour. Christie, in charge of the elephants, was there to assist in every way she could. They bring animals to your tent cabin and in the morning an elephant delivers your WONDERFUL breakfast! However, there's a catch! You can't eat your breakfast until you feed Melita! I was more than happy to oblige! You think you have heard a lion roar, guess again. I had no idea. I could write a book about this wonderful place. You simply must go and experience this wonderful animal paradise for yourself! Would I stay here again? I'd move in with the elephants if they'd let me! Please go! You won't regret it! Thank you Kelly and Christie. We WILL see you again! Kelli and Denny~
