“One of the Best”
Mary KMartinsville, IN

The Victorian Loft is truly lovely! My cousin and I spent 4 nights there, and I can't wait to go back again. The riverfront home is beautifully restored and kept, with every amenity one could wish for. Best of all is the hostess, who is welcoming and personable, kind and thoughtful. Breakfasts were scrumptious with home made juice and baked goodies and creative main dishes, all served on the loveliest of china and linen. I really enjoy B&Bs, and this ranks among the best!

A feeling of old-fashioned beauty. The elegance of roses and lace. All wrapped up into a romantic moment.

“Gracious Acommodation”

Very welcoming hostess. A truly gracious Victorian home, lovingly restored.
We stayed in the attic suite, clean, spacious and comfortable. Sloping ceilings were challenging!
Excellent breakfast and good company.

“Charming and Gracious Hospitality”

My husband and I stayed at the Victorian Loft on a recent three nights, four days visit to Clearfield. They made arrangements for someone to be there when we arrived mid-afternoon to give us a key and show us to our room. We had looked at the pictures of the Victorian Loft on the internet, but it far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in Lydia's room, and it was a charming Victorian bedroom complete with dresser, mirror, nightstands, writing desk, rocking chairs, and lots of lighting. The view of the river was delightful. The bathroom featured modern ammenities in a Victorian setting. The double sinks and full size shower were as comfortable as home. I loved the lighting in the bathroom - there was a lot of it. None of the hotels and motels ever have enough lighting to suit me when putting on makeup, but the overhead and side lighting around the large mirrors was great. There was a porch off of the bathroom that would have been a nice sitting place, but we didn't have time to enjoy it. The entire house was immaculate. Fresh towels were in our bathroom daily. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room very quiet, so we got a good night's sleep each night. Peggy was flexible about breakfast time and worked to accomodate all of the guests. The food was delicious. They make their own juice which was a treat. The meal was also home made. From raspberry stuffed french toast to a mushroom cheese omelet to fresh blueberry pancakes - they were wonderful. We could smell the muffins baking the night before...mmmmm. We had been staying in local motels during our annual visits, but we stayed in their cabin in the mountains a couple of years ago when we brought children and grandchildren to Clearfield for a birthday party. We liked the cabin so much that we decided to try the in-town B&B. Peggy Durant is a gracious and charming hostess in addition to a fabulous cook. What a find. We visit Clearfield every year and will definitely stay there again and recommend it to other family members (after we get our reservation made first).

“A gem”

Beautiful house with amazing woodwork. Hostess bakes and provides the best meals we've had at any B&B in North America. Lovely sitting room for guests, all rooms pretty in Victorian style, well thought out amenities (e.g. power plugs in handy locations). One of the best in our opinion and exceptional value for the price.
