The Mast Farm Inn

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this 18-acre farmstead includes a main house and ten outbuildings, one of them a log cabin built in 1812. The inn features a wraparound porch with rocking chairs, swings and a view of the mountain valley. Fresh flowers gathered from the garden add fragrance throughout the inn. Rooms are furnished with antiques, quilts and mountain crafts. In addition to the inn rooms, there are seven cottages available, some with kitchens. Before breakfast is served, early morning coffee can be delivered to your room. Organic home-grown vegetables are featured at dinners, included in a contemporary regional cuisine.

The Taylor House Inn

A wraparound porch encircling this farmhouse-style inn communicates the feeling of real hospitality and sets the tone for the entire house. There's old and new wicker on the porch with bright fabrics, lots of plants and flower boxes. An old-fashioned porch swing adds to the feeling, and from the breakfast area, you can look out on a field of grazing Charolais cattle. The town was founded by Scottish Highlanders when they first came to this country. Every summer, the area hosts the largest gathering of Scottish clans in the United States.
