About Our Rooms

Studios

StudiosThis house is the real thing! The home is over one hundred years old. The original owners of this house dug the dirt and baked the adobe bricks themselves to build their house .This authentic 500 square foot home has not been overly remodeled maintaining the feel of Santa Fe's old world charm. The location could not be better! Quiet and secluded,.the house is only 1 1/2 blocks to Canyon Road the art gallery district and where some of my favorite restaurants are, and 5 blocks to the famed Plaza. 1/2 block to one of Santa Fe's locals favorite book store and coffee shop. This casita is the first of the growing inventory of "Two Casitas," furnished and painted in Mexican style, this spacious studio features brick floors with a gorgeous Russian sumac rug. The house is graced with original paintings by well known local artists such as famed Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander gallery ( Wendy Kapp's mother.) This casita offers a full and separate kitchen and dining area. Private bath with shower only. Warm yourself by the gas burning fireplace, or soak up the sun on the front portal, or porch. Double french doors open up into your large back yard as well. Although this casita is a very private and separate guest house, if you have a larger party, you can also rent this house with "Zia" studio, and the two bedroom "Mariposa" all at the same address in this compound. Amenities include off street parking, pets are welcome with permission of the owner, air conditioned, barbecue, cable TV and free WyFI, shared, yet very private hot tub.

Artist B

Artist BPerhaps our most romantic casita is Artist B. This gem of a casita is sure to delight you. The house is located right at the base of the road that climbs the mountain to the ski basin and only six blocks north of the Plaza. Ski Santa Fe, soak in your hot tub, then light a fire in your bedroom with its traditional kiva fireplace. Relax in your king size canopy bed. The living room has a day bed with a pop-up trundle so there is a place for the kids to sleep. The European style kitchenette is small yet efficient. In warmer weather, barbecue in the back yard and sit under your umbrella table and chairs surrounded by blooming fruit trees. The furnishings are rustic cedar wood with hand stenciling. Beautiful imported rugs cover the Saltillo tile floors and the casita has many great works of original art from well known local artists. Spacious bathroom with a shower. 520 sq. ft. You can rent this one bedroom separately where you will experience privacy or combine it with Artist A since the house is a duplex and then you would have a two bedroom, two bath home. Pet friendly with permission of owner. Air conditioned, off street parking, Cable TV, WiFi

Old Sante Fe Trail - Two Bedrooms

Old Sante Fe Trail - Two BedroomsWith courage, hardship and determination the ancestors of our cities tri-cultural people all traveled up the Historic Old Santa Fe Trail making our unique city the place it is today. Now you can stay in this lovely Southwest style home right off this famous trail with all the comforts of modern living. The elegant design gives light and beauty to this spacious 1,100 square foot casa. Architectural elegance is obvious when you enter with its high ceilings, double French doors opening onto two private patios add to the sophisticated ambiance of this home. The bedroom has a king bed, and the house can accommodate an extra guest or two with the sleeper sofa and day bed in the living room. Full kitchen, Kiva fireplace, vigas, bath with shower and tub featuring Mexican tile, brick floors. For those of you with sophisticated taste, yet still enjoying the flavor and details of the Old West, I highly recommend Casa Old Santa Fe Trail...only a ten minute walk to the end of the trail; the Plaza. Pet friendly with owner’s permission, washer and drier, dishwasher, air conditioned, Cable TV, WYFI

El Caminto has inspired me to redecorate my home. There are no words to describe the need for the vacation that we had. If we had opted for a hotel instead of the casita... there is no way it would have been the same. We had more fun than we could have imagined. Watch your step walking up to the landing. You will be greeted with the most quaint and impeccably decorated vacation home we have ever stayed in. Seriously, I'm going cafe curtain crazy. Down to the the squeaky wood floors and the light flooded windows... this place does not disappoint. It is spa designed to rejuvenate my soul. You will at one point discover that the couch is a very comfortable sleeper. You and your partner will pull the sofa out and you will lay a blanket down. You will, no matter how hard you fight it, eventually order take out food and watch Sex and the City until you pass out on your pallet from your food coma. This is a guarantee. The location was perfect, a little bit of a walk to the plaza, but we didn't mind the less than 5 minute drive. The walk to Canyon Road was a beautiful mansion speckled dirt road leading the best food EVER. Anyone who visits HAS to check out Parker... The coolest bartender at coolest tapas restaurant, el Ferrol. Be careful, though, your bar tab will creep up on you as quickly as the alcohol and the elevation... DANGER WILL ROBINSON. Geronimos for dinner will leave you speechless and Pasquals for breakfast makes you want to DIE. Shopping shopping shopping. The only disappointment were the middle eastern shop owners that seemed to be to eager to make a sale. Later we heard from a shop owner in Madrid that a lot of their merchandise was made in China... Make sure you do your research before buying. You have to make the drive to Taos to see the Pueblo and the Gorge Bridge... Stop at the visitors center and get a map from the lady with the crazy big hair... Im from Texas so you know when I say crazy big hair, I mean CRAZY BIG HAIR. Take the High Road up and the Low Road down. Simply breathtaking. I never knew a purple mountain before. Side-note, check out the Museums on Museum Hill in Santa Fe. The International Folk Art Museum has one of the coolest collections that I have ever seen...in any museum, ever. Go, and you will know what I am talking about. Warning... El Caminto is addicting. I will be posting photos soon, I will tag you, and you will see why we love this place. Thank you Two Casitas and Wendy for providing us a get away that we can now call our vacation home EVERY FEBRUARY... (Hopefully they will not be working on the deck next year) See you in 2013.
