“Awesome stay!”
Val HThis is one of the most relaxing experiences I ever had the pleasure of indulging. The services were outstanding from all aspects. The setting is one of a kind combined with sense of nostalgia and modern technology. Adele has the personal touch that is rare. The service and food was top-notch and we look forward to returning to this breath-taking B&B that titillates the senses on so many levels!

“Peaceful Retreat”
Kay MFor those seeking lodging other than the standard motel room, I recommend Traveler's Rest in Montezumza, Ga. You will find the house well decorated and the rooms with varying themes. Adele, the owner, is attentive to your needs and also an excellent chef. I think you will be pleased to have given it a try.

“Romantic Anniversary Getaway”
Julia PColumbus, GA
Located in the heart of Georgia, this beautiful mansion is a wonderful retreat. The anniversary package includes a four-course dinner, very romantic and very delicious! The rooms are very comfortable and follow a theme, and the yard and gardens are lovely. The innkeeper is exceptionally nice and extremely proficient. This is our new anniversary celebration tradition, and this was our second year to go.

“Best of the Best”
Bob RDeLand, FL
We have stayed in several B&B's during last many years and this one had the best breakfast of any. Keep in mind that we have had some really great meals, but this exceeded any. A perfect touch was serving several homemade items on a sidebar and allowing guests to serve their-selves. Room in carriage house included small kitchen area completely stocked with everything. There was an impressive array of remote controls that satisfied even this nerd. Would recommend this inn to anyone.

“Don't stay anywhere else”
Karin & Louis PAruba,
Traveler's Rest is a wonderful place to stay. As soon as we arrived Adele made us feel like family. We had a great time hanging out with the other guests. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters which was very spacious. Everything was clean, the room was very nicely decorated, the beds were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was perfect. The only regret we had is that we didn't stay longer. We highly recommend staying at Traveler's Rest B&B.

“Great Rest, Do it!”
Phyllis RCary, NC
I often pass through quaint little towns and wonder if the B&Bs I see are as nice on the outside as the inside. I wish I could sit in the porch swing and not hurry on, then take a leisurely rest in a really comfy bed. I did it at the Traveler's Rest and was it restful! I haven't slept so well in months. We visited Andersonville and Americus while we were there and I should have done it years ago. How much would you give to stay in a beautiful place and have a restorative rest? Traveler's Rest is an exceptional value and I can see why some guests stay for weeks, not days. Do yourself a favor and take a day (or more) for yourself at Traveler's Rest

Don EDavenport, FL
My wife and I arrived at the Traveler's B&B and was greeted with great southern hosptality and that continued throughout our entire stay. We stayed in the cottage (African theme)and enjoyed the whole aspect of the atomsphere. We enjoyed a outstanding dinner prepared by Adele (Salmon salad)and the beauty of the main house. We again enjoyed an outstanding meal the next morning with extremely delicious crepes. We are looking forward to our next visit to Montezuma and the Travler's B&B.

“A Real Traveler's Rest!”
Lois S (2 reviews)
Cygnet, OH

We have stayed at Traveler's Rest several times and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Adele Goodman is a wonderful, gracious hostess in addition to being a fabulous cook. We visited with other guests who were staying in her home and had a great time meeting and getting to know everyone. We always stay in the Carriage House, which is beautifully decorated in an African theme. Traveler's Rest has become a MUST on our way to Florida each year. It is hard to find a better place to stay and we frequent many B&Bs during the year.

“The best B&B Ever!”
Ralph M2/12/2011
We were here on business and having stayed at B&B's before were not too excited when our company said this was where they were putting us here. That was before we met Ms. Adele and had the most wonderful experience. The room was incredible but the company and atmosphere was better. We are very private people but at the same time love to make new friends. Ms. Adele has the perfect personality, she's there and will talk but never makes you feel smothered and always greets you with a smile and a wave when you walk in. We felt so at home and actually were quiet sad when our time was over. P.S. she also has incredibly well behaved animals but the only ones you see are the cats. They are awesome and made our time even better. Thanks Adele!

“Wonderful food! Comfortable.”
Karla S2/1/2011
We stayed in the very comfortable Civil War Suite with an immaculate large private bathroom. Adele prepared a casual soup and salad dinner for us, and the taste and presentation of the food was far above our expectations even for a B&B. We had the choice of home-made Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Cauliflower-Carrot soup, with a extravagantly topped dinner salad of chicken, asparagus, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, and goat cheese. Breakfast also was a hot served meal of crepes with lemon-cream cheese filling with fresh fruit topping, and sausage and buttermilk blueberry muffins. Traveler's Rest was a very convenient location to the Andersonville National Cemetery and prison site and the Prisoner of War Museum. My only caveat would be that you should be a pet lover as there are two cats allowed free run of the B&B and Adele has dogs which live with her in her private quarters.

Traveler's Rest and Adele (Innkeeper) turn all my business trips to this part of Georgia pleasure trips. Words do not do justice to the warm hospitality, delicious food and comfortable lodging I experience on every stay.
This is a B & B that you do not want to miss! I am already looking forward to my next stay! Thanks Adele for being in all the details and for your friendship that I value.

“The Best New Year Ever!”
April B1/6/2011
My husband and I spent New Year's Eve at Traveler's Rest this year, and it was our first time ever staying at a B&B. We could not have asked for a better place to pick for our first time! Adele had the best hospitality, and was willing to serve us with whatever we needed. The dinning experience was one to be found in the movies!!! Candle light, AMAZING 4 course meal, and great music in the background made for such a romantic time for my husband and I. We had a beautiful room that was clean and comfy to stay in. The night was wonderful, and we were still blessed with an amazing breakfast the next morning. We really loved our experience so much we have vowed to not stay in anything other than B&Bs from now on if we can help it. Give Traveler's Rest a try... I PROMISE you will not be disappointed!

“Wonderful Inn with Great Food!”
Geri E12/24/2010
We chose to stay at Traveler’s Rest on our wedding night, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. We are “foodies”, and we wanted a B&B that served a romantic dinner. Adele provided a masterful four course meal in a charming setting. Every detail was perfect, skillfully prepared and lovingly served. The Inn is uniquely and richly decorated throughout, and one could spend hours enjoying the sitting room and dining room areas alone.
The carriage house was perfectly offset from the main home through a lovely garden, and offered a plethora of comforts and beauty.
We HIGHLY recommend this B&B! It is a perfect choice for any occasion - romantic getaway to business stay. Breakfast is fabulous, service is top-notch - you will not be disappointed.

John y12/10/2010
We stayed at Traveler's Rest B & B in September of 2010. We had an exceptional stay. We have two kittens and this Inn provides a quiet suite just off the garden perfect for an older couple in their sixties with the added burden of traveling with kitties. The service provided by Adelle in a general sense and in the cooking was marvelous. We plan to make Traveler's Rest a regular stop on our journeys from Michigan to Florida.

John KBrentwood, TN
11/15/2010
This is the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed at the Traveler's Rest B&B in Montezuma, GA. Now as a man I appreciate the clean and comfortable rooms, but what I really love is innkeeper Adele's personality and her cooking! Adele brings a depth of international flavor to both her ocnversation and cooking. Both times we have stayed we have chosen the dinner option and both times we have let Adele make whatever she felt inspired to make. And both times we were richly rewarded wit great meals, and I consider myself a pretty good gourmet cook. We wil stay at Traveler's Rest again!

Having both sets of grandparents and both parents being from Montezuma and spending my childhood summers growing up there, I knew it would be an emotional trip. My grandparents and parents have passed away but thanks to Adelle and the Travelers Rest, returning to Montezuma was like returning home. Thank you Adelle for your friendliness and hospitality. “A Most ROMANTIC Night!”
Jean K9/5/2010
They say that home is where the heart is, and the “heart” of this Bed and Breakfast lies in the exceptional talents of Adele Goodman!!! After reading the reviews (as you now are) my husband and I anticipated a solidly enjoyable experience at “Traveler's Rest.” Knowing we'd be road weary after 7 hours of travel, we booked the “4 course candlelight dinner for 2,” and throwing caution to the wind, asked Adele to "surprise us" with her best. What we got for this culinary bravado was nothing short of FANTASTIC!! Babette's feast!!! From the Champaign-Passion Fruit Cocktail (with the homebrewed "Cherry BOMB!") to the Cold Tomato/Cucumber Soup, to the absolutely SUBLIME Herb Vinegarette on the Fresh Salad, and Cornish Game Hens with Black Rasberry Reduction, and finished with an exceptional Creme Brulee (for him), and Chocolate Fudge Cake with Fresh Whipped Creme and Key Lime Coulis (for me)--we were BLOWN AWAY!!! The subtlety..the taste...the nuance of flavor…WOW!… And just when we thought we had hit the peak of our evening we went up to our room “The Captain’s Quarters” and the PERFECTION of an elegantly turned-down room (Soft music playing, candles lit, chocolates on the table, and dimmed lights—simply put us OVER THE TOP. It just doesn’t get any better! BRAVO Adele, Bravo—one of the MOST ROMANTIC settings EVER! You’ve created something genuine & special at your beautiful B &B that can ONLY come from the heart and we are completely, utterly, happily satisfied. Leave your expectations at home, and fall into something truly WONDERFUL!!!

Eight of us met last week at the inn for a 2-day team-building retreat. Not only did our days start with fabulous food, we were able to use the living area for several hours at a time for our activities. Normally we meet weekly for a book study, but this was our best ever. Just having the time away in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere gave us the opportunity to focus and learn. InnSide Tip - dogs & side trip
As a family who enjoys traveling w/ their dogs, Traveler's Rest was one of the only inns we could think of in the southeast that allowed dogs - and that in no way took away from the overall beauty of the inn or property. As for a side trip, we recommend Andersonville Nat'l historic site even if you are not a history buff, it's a trip worth taking.

After traveling through several states, my husband and I decided to visit Montezuma, GA on our way home. We considered it such a blessing to stumble upon this beautiful, romantic Inn! We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, which had nautical theme decor and a huge bathroom with hot tub. We could not have asked for a better hostess. Adele went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable and was a great cook! If you are consider visiting Montezuma, GA, we highly recommend the Traveler's Inn!

“Won't be my last visit”
Debi T5/24/2010
This was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast and the Traveler's Rest was a pefect little getaway. Adele, our Innkeeper, was very warm, accomodating and informative about the area. The room we stayed in was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Traveler's Rest is a pet friendly house and Adele was just as accomodating to our pet. This will definately not be our last visit to Traveler's Rest or any other B&B.

Claire B3/27/2010
We've traveled all over the world and never experienced the hospitality that we found at Traveler's Rest Bed and Breakfast in Montezuma, GA. Our rooms were perfect, the setting spectacular, and the food fabulous. We'll never stay in a hotel again, and can't wait to return to Traveler's Rest.

“The South's Best Kept Secret”
Gail RAmbrose, GA
3/16/2010
My husband and I were looking were a place to spend a special weekend together. We searched many locations and never could find just the right spot for our weekend but finally we found Traveler's Rest. When we read the reviews we thought this place sounded too good to be true but much to our surprise this was exactly what we had been looking for and the reviews were right in saying there is no better bed and breakfast to be found. We stayed in the Carriage House which was a wonderful room that is located behind the main house. The Carriage House is located in a garden setting and the tranquility of the location is only a hint of what a peaceful weekend we would enjoy during our stay in the Carriage House. No detail is overlooked from the accomodations to the gourmet foods that were prepared for us. The highlight of our stay was a romantic meal that was prepared for us and the food was wonderful. Adele is such a warm and friendly hostess and her cooking is divine. She truly made us feel like we were special guests in her home. We are already trying to see when we can plan our next trip to Montezuma and enjoy another weekend at Traveler's rest.

“Gem in Montezuma Ga”
Linda GCharlotte, NC
3/8/2010
As pilots, we are always looking for places convenient to airports to visit,. Traveler's Rest B&B is just one such place, within 5 minutes of the runway. Although there is no fuel or tie downs at Montezuma, another field, Americus, also close by, has both. We had the most delightful stay and met the most delightful people who were staying there and were really made to feel part of the family. We will definitely go back for another visit.

“Culinary treat beyond expectations”
Rodney SChicago, IL
2/18/2010
This inn is a beautiful Victorian set in a lovely garden in an interesting small city. It is beautifully furnished. The owner, Adele Goodman, is most gracious and really tries to anticipate things to suggest to make your stay the most enjoyable. Without question, she is the best chef in town. The meals were extraordinary with the dinner dessert so scrumptious with subtle flavor combinations--it was a most rare treat. Adele seemed to have an intuitive feel for things that would please us, and triumphed in making us feel welcome and also introducing us to local people we were compatible with. When we left we felt we were leaving friends. We look forward to another stay at Traveler's Rest B&B.

Traveler's Rest came highly recommended by our friends! Adele and her home are a true gem. We stayed in the Civil War Suite, which exceded all of our expectations. Tastely decorated and very comfortable. From the moment we arrived Adele made us feel like friends not customers. Adele is an amazing cook, and is truly the tops in hospitality. Thank you for a special Valentine's Weekend, we are planning on returning soon, hopefully in the spring. See you soon!

My wife and I chose to ring in the New Year with a truly wonderful dining experience with superb service at our favorite B&B, Traveler's Rest in Montezuma, GA. We arrived to an elegant setting complete with New Year's paper crowns and traditional surprise crackers! Though we arrived on the last day of a 4 day getaway, this B&B is above of what we experienced from our previous logding place. Adele greted us at arrival and made us feel like family. The Civil War room was very comfortable and with plenty of era type decorations. My son really enjoyed his sleeping arrangements and my wife was more than satisfied with our stay. I will certainly recommend this B&B to anyone that wants to relax and be pampered.

“Extraordinary B & B”
Thompson A4/18/2009
My wife and I celebrated our 41st Wedding Anniversary at Traveler's Rest. We consider ourselves most fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem of a B & B doing our internet search for a great place to go on our special date! The reviews were so great we decided to venture off into this beautiful area. We were not disappointed! In fact, we were overwhelmned by Adele's attention to detail and extraordinary skills at inn keeping + her culinary talents were simply outstanding. We enjoyed greatly the gourmet dinner with all the special amenities (fresh flowers in our room, a rose at the table for my wife, chocolates on our pillows, candle light dinner, and the most delicious 5 course meal we have ever eated). So without a doubt I rate Traveler's Rest as the very best B & B we have ever experienced! We will definitely return!

“Best B&B Ever”
Deborah SAlpharetta, GA
4/10/2009
Our perspective might be a bit different from the usual B&B guests. You see, a fellow animal rescue volunteer and I had traveled down from Atlanta to spend several days on a difficult neglect and abuse case. When we arrived late at night feeling very tired and grimy, Adele welcomed us into her beautiful home and made us feel just as special as her more presentable guests. Adele insisted that we place carriers containing a dozen scared cats in an out-building on her property instead of leaving them in our vehicles overnight. (She even brought in a litter of kittens to spend the night in a spare bathroom!) Notwithstanding our late arrival, she fixed us a much-needed (and delicious!) dinner. In the morning, she arranged to have a local police officer escort us to a vet clinic's office where our cats were scheduled to received medical care.
The bottom line is that this is no ordinary bed and breakfast with a cookie-cutter approach to visitors. Adele is a lovely and caring person who works to meet her guests' need and to make everyone feel special. The Traveler's Rest is a gorgeous and comfortable house with every possible amenity. Adele is a fabulous cook (you won't believe the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen early in the morning!), and staying here under any circumstances would be a treat. In our case, we felt incredibly fortunate to be hosted by someone who clearly cares for her guests (human and non-human!) and who made us feel truly welcome.

Anonymous11/18/2008
Why would I want to go home when I can have a warm, comfy bed, an amazing full breakfast with fresh fruit every day, and dinner WITH dessert every night? That's not waiting for me at home. The innkeeper, Adele, is the best. I don't have much experience with B&B's but I have a feeling I'll be very disappointed with any other after my experience here. From the time we arrived we felt very welcome. Ms. Goodman is an outstanding cook and host. The B&B is decorated with fine furniture and beautiful pictures. The Civil War room we stayed in has appropriate decor for the title, the bed was EXTREAMELY comfortable. The price was well within reason, I would say a bargain. For a gracious host, Ms. Goodman is a treasure.

“An oasis in Montezuma, GA ”
Joel Barton6/26/2008
The rooms were immaculate, the beds comfortable,
the shower was hot, the high-speed Internet and
flat panel TV were unexpected, and I loved the
cool, air-conditioned oasis of the Carriage House
after a hot muggy day at work.

“GREAT PLACE - WE LOVED IT”
R M Meck6/1/2008
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We were so comfy in the carriage house. And the food was just out of this world.
You were a wonderful hostess, cook, and care taker (and we don't know how many more HATS you wear).
If we are ever in the area again, we definitely will stop again!!
Sincerely
Bob and Phyl Meck

“Relaxing Visit”
Heather5/12/2008
We had such a wonderful time with Adele at Traveler's Rest. She was so welcoming, both to us and to our dog who came along for the trip. The Carriage House was elegant and inviting with modern amenities! Our dog enjoyed playing in the garden and we enjoyed the wonderful hospitality. 10 out of 10! Thanks Adele!

“Delightful and Unexpected”
J James3/22/2008
The Traveller's Rest is a delight on several levels. The Inn's shows the attention to deail reflecting the extensive and unique experience in the business of its owner. Adele does a great job of making her guests feel at home and the Inn is a welcome respite for all who stay. I have stayed twice now and expect to stay again. I have travelled extensively for business and cannot say that I would rank any other place on the same level. Many of the mega or small chains do an adequate job of providing a place to stay, but none make me feel at home like I do at Traveller's rest. The Unexpected part is the fact that I never would have guessed such a deluxe accomodation, with a delightful owner, would exist in a small, rural Georgia town. Had a co-worker not encouraged me to check out the Inn, I never would have guessed it existed and would have missed a fine place to rest my bones. Try it once; you will be back!

“Comfy Getaway”
Debra Smith2/3/2008
Travelers Rest Bed & Breakfast, 318 N. Dooly Street in
Montezuma GA 31063 is near Jimmy Carter's home. We visited the boyhood farm, the highschool, and found a unique place called Andersonville.
Andersonville is a POW camp, which originated during the civil war. We also visited Jimmy Carters Sunday School class which was top notch.
Adele's bed and breakfast was a beautiful historic home with a large country porch. Our room, The Captain's Quarters was very comfortable with a grand spa tub in the bathroom.
I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and a visit to the area.

“A Very Special B & B”
Gail Hollingsworth1/3/2008
We had a wonderful time! We chose to stay in a little apart-
ment outside the main house which was located in a beautiful
garden. It was a lovely place; impeccably clean and furnished
with everything one could possibly need or want. The breakfasts
and the afternoon tea were delicious!!! In fact we thought it to be
the very best B & B we have ever had the pleasure of staying
and we have already made reservation for next month.

“Our home away from home”
Sharon Stephenson11/13/2007
A small town treasure. The breakfast is to die for, the
house and furniture are antiques and each room is unique.
The innkeeper really knows how to make her guests feel
special. The small town has hidden charms and the inn is
pet friendly. We can't go back often enough.

“Perfect Down to the Last Detail”
Brett A.4/16/2006
Traveler's Rest was the highlight our vacation. As students, we
aren't able to afford many excursions, but when we decided to head
south for spring break I called up several bed and breakfasts just to
see if we could afford a night somewhere. I had spoken to several
other bed and breakfasts on the phone but Adele's warmth (and
reasonable prices) convinced me that Traveler's Rest was our best bet.
We stayed in the Victorian Suite and things couldn't have been more
perfect! The room was candle lit and classical music was playing when
we arrived. Rose petals were scattered on the floor and across the
bed. The spacious bathroom was equipped with any bath and body
products we could possibly need from bubbles to massage oil. There
was a tv in the bathroom so we could watch movies in the tub (and a
nice selection of cds and dvds in the main hallway as well as a
microwave and coffee machine among other things).
We also had a chocolate fondue with strawberries, marshmallows, and
nuts and our kitty who came with us was provided with some yummy
parmesean cheese treats.
One thing that usually bothers me about bed and breakfasts is the
cluttery decore. Not the case here. While every corner, had an
interesting accessory or antique, the decorations were clean,
well-dusted and not overwelming.
Adele, the owner, brought it all together. She made us feel right at
home, fixed a breakfast that we both would eat (which is a feat in and
of itself), and was helpful in answering all of our questions. (She
even took care of our cat while we headed south for a couple days.)
We can't wait to get back to Traveler's Rest Bed and Breakfast!
