Circa 1875. Located on five pastoral acres in upstate New York, between the Hudson River and The Berkshire Mountains, this historic farmhouse boasts country life in harmony with the seasons. Eco-friendly, environmentally sustainable practices are woven into almost every aspect of day-to-day life, and the benefits are passed on to guests. Play badminton or croquet then swim in the salt-filtered pool. Fish in the filled pond and watch the wildlife in the meadows. Take a nap in the hammock, gather fresh eggs or feed the chickens. Evening campfires are popular. Stay in an inviting guest room that features down quilts, natural fiber bedding and rugs. Elegant yet simple breakfasts use organic produce harvested onsite. Dinners can be arranged with advance notice. Columbia County has many activities to experience, and winery tours are nearby.

About Our Rooms

Lavender Room

The lavender room with its subdued colors and lighting on the west side of the house has a very peaceful feel to it. Two comfortable chairs can be pulled up to a drop leaf table to share a private tea or candle light dinner. The room connects through the bath to a small room with twin and 3/4 sized organic beds making it ideal for families with children. The eco-friendly Bathroom is constructed from 90% recycled materials including the fixtures, lighting, shower pan, insulation and flooring. Recycled chalk boards were used for the shower walls and countertop. It has a dual flush toilet, 75% of the wood used was harvested locally and the room was constructed by local craftsmen. Our Lavendar room now has an organic queen sized matress.
