Circa 1888. This home was built as a boarding house to help accommodate the thousands of railroad workers and travelers who passed through Salida. Today, the home still serves as a restful place for weary travelers drawn to the Colorado wilderness. The inn is decorated with antiques, collectibles and contemporary furnishings. Each guest room is named for a mountain. The Mt. Princeton suite includes a bedroom, private bath with an antique clawfoot tub and a separate sitting area. The innkeepers keep reading materials on hand, and there is an outdoor hot tub as well. Enjoy a full breakfast served buffet style, featuring American classic entrees such as biscuits and gravy or pancakes and bacon.
