This Colonial Revival mansion was built for Maxwell Evarts, who was the son of William Evarts, attorney general to Andrew Johnson. It was Maxwell's ties with the Union Pacific Railroad, which led to his familiarity with politicians and business leaders of the time. Teddy Roosevelt reportedly enjoyed the hospitality of the Evarts on a trip to Windsor. The common areas of the inn include a great hall with a massive fireplace, two dining rooms, a sitting parlor and a library. There are elopement and wedding packages among the more popular specials. Think about the glass blowing class! Be sure to book an evening in the inn's restaurant.

Gracious Hosts, Lovely Inn

My husband and I were quite impressed by the lovely rooms - loved the working fireplace in ours - and the beautifully appointed public areas. Breakfast was yummy and our hosts, Robert and Ari were so nice and helpful. We've already booked another stay with them and definitely recommend the inn to anyone visiting the area!
