Such a Romantic Weekend!

The Roosevelt Inn

A perfect weekend away from our small children to unwind, get a massage and enjoy a soak in the HUGE hot tub! No distractions, no having to drive all over the place to do stuff...just a walk down the street to the beach, shopping, dinner, and awesome breakfast each morning. One of my top 5!

We love staying at the Roosevelt beginning with our marriage ceremony 3 years ago, John conducted a wonderful service. I have always had a special place in my heart thinking of the Roosevelt. The rooms have a warm Victorian feeling, a net canopy over the bed really lends to feeling like a princess! Great facility, John & Tina most helpful!!

Attended murder mystery dinner and stayed two nights . . . Great location that is close to downtown where there are shops and restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated in Victorian style. Proprietors are very quick to assist and make guests feel welcome. Food is excellent!

Mystery Dinner

The Roosevelt Inn

We went to the Murder Mystery dinner that the Roosevelt Inn hosts, and were blown away! The Mystery was written by the couple that runs the Inn and it was so well thought out that it really brought out the kid in us. After the meal (which was a 5 course delight) Sherlock Holms greeted us at our tables. We were guided through a story which had multiple actors and plot twists. Before we knew it everybody had been handed a packet which lead us on a well thought out and wild run through the Inn. Needless to say the food was great. The entertainment was top notch and the price was VERY reasonable considering everything that came with it. The Innkeepers were so friendly that even though we didn't know a soul there we felt instantly welcome as if they were old friends we had not seen in years. If you are looking for something to do this is it! Support the local business they do their best and it totally shows. *Note - we did not stay there since we live close by. We did visit some of the rooms in the mystery and they were very cozy. If it had not been for work the next day I would have easily spent the money to stay. I gave the rooms 5 since they were so inviting.

Immediately we felt like we were home. John and Tina Hough are friendly, welcoming owners. They went out of their way to accomodate our group. Driving up to the Inn reminded me of the Roosevelt Elementary that I attending in North Dakota. The decor, the rooms, the service all were supurb. The breakfasts were delicous. The Mystery Dinner was a blast.

The hosts, John & Tina, could not be nicer or more accomodating. You feel like part of the family by dpearture time. Pippin, their black lab, greets & loves everyone. The converted three story red-brick schoolhouse has small town charm and is very comfortable. Grounds are well landscaped and add to the peacful feeling of the place. Breakfasts are fantastic. Massage therapy is available in the building. Town & Lake Coeur D'Alene is a three block walk. If you need it, they will get it for you or make it happen. Great stay and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Historic Mansion

Our stay at the Roosevelt Inn was wonderful. We brought our Golden Retriever with us on this trip and she was treated like one of the family. It's not often that you find a place that is so great to humans and dogs alike. The breakfast was amazing and the owners were so nice. I would go again in a heartbeat. The house is clean and huge. The rooms are quite lovely and very clean. The price was reasonable. The grounds were beautiful. We were only a few blocks from the lake and main area of town. It was a great stay!
