Circa 1740. Perfectly poised to fully enjoy Southwest Harbor, this historic New England-style farmhouse sits on the waterfront of Manset near the entrance to Somes Sound on Mt. Desert Island in Maine. Relax in the public room or on the oceanside deck amid views of Acadia National Park and the scenic mountains. Stay in a comfortable guest room or suite in the main house with a nautical theme, period antiques and mariner décor. Private and spacious two-bedroom cottages with a kitchen are also available nearby. After a continental breakfast go for a bike ride, and check out the onsite boat rentals for motoring or sailing. Wish we could stay longer!
We have had a great stay at The Moorings Inn. The Lookout-Topside was a fantastic base for our holiday/honeymoon in Acadia - wish we could stay longer!

Generations of Sea Glass finds
Thanks for another wonderful stay. I am so sentimental towards your beach. I remember vacationing in the Pilot House back in the mid 70's when I was a little girl. Every morning I woke early and was eager to run down to the beach and hunt for sea glass. This summer I am here with my own children and my three year old son is just as thrilled with the beach as I. Thanks for still being here and keeping everything so memorable.

Old fasion America is alive & well in Southwest Harbor, Maine
What a wonderful view, stay & hospitality - didn't know this side of the world even existed. It's good to know that old fashion America is alive and well in Southwest Harbor, Maine - Look forward to coming back.

Nowhere else we would rather stay
Thank you for a wonderful visit! As we explored the island we didn't come across anywhere else where we would have rather stayed! The view is incredible and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will be back.
