Circa 1917. Westerly views of the lake can be enjoyed from four of the five lodge rooms, all of the four luxury suites, the living room, dining room and pub of this inn. Each of the lodge rooms have hand-carved, four-poster beds with dual-control electric blankets and fireplaces. At the end of the day, relax in a Jacuzzi tub found in each private bath. In 1997, the adjacent carriage house was transformed into three luxurious suites that offer a total retreat. Each of the suites feature the above as well as river-stone whirlpool baths, sunken living rooms and private decks and gardens. The Katahdin Suite has a King-size bed and a second fireplace in the bathroom. The Allegash and Baxter Suites feature Queen-size beds that are suspended from the ceiling to gently rock visitors to sleep or can be made stationary at guest's request. The Mt. Kineo suite has two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and private deck overlooking Moosehead Lake and surrounding mountains.
