Circa 1906. Twelve secluded acres surround this white-pillared Georgian-style mansion, restored to a delightful bed & breakfast. A comfortable elegance is enhanced by antiques and a tasteful decor. Soft music, warm fires and good books are found in the library, living room and TV game room. The formal dining room is the perfect setting for a candlelight breakfast that includes culinary delights such as lemon cottage cheese pancakes. Spacious guest bedrooms offer charm and style for every taste. Some feature a porch with sweeping views of the meadow, or a deck overlooking the reflecting pond. Canopied four-poster beds, fireplaces, skylights and whirlpools instill a touch of romance and luxury. For an afternoon repose, enjoy varieties of wine and cheese. Visit the nearby Norman Rockwell Museum and attend concerts at Tanglewood.

Sao Paula, Brazil,

We walked in the inn from Brazil for a room and fell in love with the Inn at Stockbridge. We love it so much we stayed for four nights. Alice & Len were most helpful. breakfast was wonderful. We loved all the little touches such as sherry and candies in the room.

Too Noisy & Loud!

Our guest room (all of them) are so close to the highway that you can hear all of the heavy traffic passing by all night long. Anyone looking to be close to town should consider alternates. And the level of service (breakfast especially) was more continental than anything else there was no real homestyle cooking we expected to see.

Management Response
We received a negative review from a Janet S. She complained about noise. We are situated approx 600 feet back from Route 7 which is a major north south road. Yes there is some noise. The inn has been in business since 1978. We are the third owners and have been here since 1994. We have approximately 1500 guests per year. many have been returning to the inn since 1982 on a yearly basis for the summer music season at Tanglewood. Perhaps 1% of guests complain about noise. We do a buffet breakfast and it is hardly continental. There are many choices plus hot entrees each day and if a guest would like eggs or other requests we gladly accommodate. We have been doing breakfast for 15 years and rarely get a complaint, in fact guests have said breakfast is to large. The inn has been a Select Registry property since 1986 and we are inspected every two years. Never had a problem with our breakfasts. We do not feel this is a valid complaint. We also cannot find this person in our database. Perhaps she was with another person under a different name.

I have visited the Berkshires many times over the last five years and have now found a gem. The Inn at Stockbridge is by far the best place that we have stayed. Alice & Len Schiller are great hosts. They are helpful without being instusive. Breakfasts are wonderful, there are many choices at the elaborate buffet. We stayed in the Blagdon room, the original master bedroom. It was spotless. Staff is very helpful and delightful We can not wait to return
