While a wonderful old house, this Inn is definitely not for the business traveler. After dropping my bags, I had client meetings and a dinner such that I did not get back to the Inn until 9:30PM. I found that the air conditioner in the room did not work; there was trash from the previous guest in the wastebasket; the closet had a light fixture, but no light bulb; the vent fan did not work in the bathroom; the light bulb in the desk lamp was burned out; and one of the window blind strings was broken so that you could not close the blind for that window at night. When paying over $200 per night (incl. tax) I expect more. The innkeeper gave me $20 off and said I should have contacted someone when i knew of the problems.....except no one was around at 10:00 PM at night.

My hunch that the Inn at Montpelier would be ideal was well-founded.
