Romantic Interest
For over two and a half centuries Middleton Place has welcomed and enchanted visitors from all over the world. The 65 acres of landscaped terraces, shadowy allees, ornamental ponds and garden rooms laid out with precise symmetry and balance made Middleton Place the most unique and grand garden of its time. Today, as they did then, the gardens represent the Low Country's most spectacular expression of an 18th-century ideal — the triumphant marriage between man and nature.
Historic Interest
The Inn is located adjacent to Middleton Place, a historical plantation with formal landscaped gardens, a working stableyard and a house museum.

“In dire need of maintenance”
Bryant MorrisonMy wife and I stayed at this inn for our 3rd anniversary and to be direct we were greatly disappointed. The bathroom fixtures were old and cankered and soap scum was abuntant. None of the fixtures sparkled because of the film. The floor was dull and looked as if it had not been treated properly in years. The windows were absolutely filthy and we resigned to just not look out of them because it was so disgusting. In addition the parking lot is not paved so forget about rolling your luggage. The food was ok, but nothing to speak favorably of by any means. This place probably was spectacular in its day but the immages on the website will fool you and you will truly feel like a bo-bo if you don't find other lodging.

History, eco-sensitive, real people and nature. Add in a wood burning fireplace, 150 gallon tub and plush linens and that equals ROMANTIC!

“Secluded Romantic Get-away”

I had the most romantic weekend at The Inn at Middleton Place, recently. The room is perfect for couples of any age, especially if you love the outdoors. There was a fireplace in our room with a sofa for us to snuggle on and drink some wine. The bed was very roomy and comfortable and it was incredible waking up to the sunrise along the Ashley River! We took several short hikes around the property and over to the plantation. We even spent some time napping together in one of several hammocks around the grounds. The staff at the evening reception was very friendly and helped us decide what to do while off property (although we never wanted to leave)! I can't wait to come back and stay here again!!!

“Romantic Anniversary Getaway!”
Melanie PCharleston, SC

My husband and I love to spend our anniversaries at Middleton Place and this past anniversary was no exception. We walked throughout the gardens and the property, enjoyed the cocktail reception, dinner at the wonderful Middleton restaurant, the gorgeous room (with the best tubs you'll find), the views, everything! We rode bikes throughout the property before we checked out and saw some of the most beautiful wildlife you can imagine. The rooms, service, grounds and food are all spectacular!

I am READY TO GO BACK to the Inn at Middleton Place, and I literally just checked out two days ago! From the fireplaces in the room, to the "wine-n-cheese" reception, to the quiet walks and pathways, to the corner table in the restaurant, this venue deserves to be MOST ROMANTIC!

I just spent the weekend at The Inn at Middleton Place with my boyfriend who is now going to be my future husband! He and the Innkeeper, Abby Martin, set up a surprise where her staff brought me breakfast in bed, with the ring under the plate cover! It was the most fantastic beginning to our lives together and I owe this property and the staff this recognition!

“Hidden Getaway”
Morgan1/10/2007
This is where I go when I need a quick escape from my everyday workload. I LOVE the 150 gallon tubs. I sit and soak in there for hours. Make sure you met the "house cat" ZOE, she has a personality of her own. Best customer service in town.
