Description

Circa 1854. Shaded by eucalyptus trees and framed by gardens and white picket fences, the Inn at Benicia Bay is painted freshly in a cheerful yellow with white trim on its bay windows and porches. Gardens of marigolds, zinnias or mums brighten the vistas from rooms in the new wing, which offer private decks and patios. There's a banquet room with original cherrywood plank floors. This room was the center for the area's social activities when Benicia was a shipping center and home of many sea captains. The inn remains popular for gatherings such as weddings and receptions of more than 150 guests. All guest rooms offer antiques, original art, large beds, TV and Jacuzzi tubs. The parlor, library and gallery also feature polished hardwood floors. The wine country is nearby, or you can stroll a half block to the village shops, artist studios and galleries.

A surprising gem

My husband suprised me with a weekend away. When he told me it was to Benicia I thought he was crazy and wasn't looking forward to it. Boy was I wrong! From the moment we arrived the staff at the Inn treated us like royalty. No matter our need they filled it with a smile. We went for a stroll and dinner and we returned to warm cookies and fruit in our room. Our room was beautiful and the bed really comfortable. We loved snuggling in front of the fire. I had a facial in their spa and my hubby had a massage, both were as good as we have experienced in top locations. Breakfasts were delicious and they are adding a restaurant soon. The town it's self was charming with great shopping and beautiful water vistas. There was even music at several places. We loved the Inn and now I'm looking forward to going back to Benicia.
