Description

Circa 1690. This 300-year-old Colonial stone farmhouse sits on four acres just two miles from Valley Forge Park. Boxwoods line the walkway, and ancient trees surround the house. Each of the three antique-filled guest rooms is hand-stenciled and features a canopied or brass bed topped with handmade quilts. Guests enjoy a full breakfast before a 14-foot fireplace in the "summer kitchen," the oldest part of the house. On the grounds are a swimming pool, walking and hiking trails and the home's original smokehouse.

Anniversary Stay

A perfect weekend getaway to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Thank you Pattye for making us feel so welcome. PS ... the breakfasts were fantastic.

Historic Jewel

I have never stayed stayed in a 300-year-old-house and what a treat. My wife and our 2 children enjoyed the Great Valley House and its history. Pattye is president of the local historical society and has lots of stories to share over breakfast. If you are a history buff, you don't want to miss an opportunity to stay here.

Great Summer Fun!

With temperatures at nearly 100 degrees and sightseeing plans 'on hold', it didn't matter. The swimming pool and grounds at the Great Valley House are amazing. We stayed 3 days and enjoyed every moment. We plan on making it a yearly summer visit!

First B&B Experience - Great!

Thank you so much for this experience. This was only our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast & we loved it. All the little touches and attention to detail really makes one feel at ease. The room was beautiful and the breakfasts superb. You made a much needed vacation as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Local History

We loved our stay. As Californians, on our first East Coast visit, we loved staying in our fist 300 yr old house. Thanks for your tourist suggestions for Philly (and Valley Forge). We crammed a lot in our 3 days

History & Shopping

Once a year, my husband and I treat ourselves for a weekend away. He wants history and I want to shop. A stay at the Great Valley House and a walk in Valley Forge National Historic Park made him a happy guy and I shopped until I dropped at King of Prussia Mall. THANK YOU for pleasing both of us with a stay at your bed & breakfast. Plus, I got a jump on my Xmas shopping.

Danish Pancake Balls!

Pattye, Please can I have the recipe for the pancake balls. Traveling with 2 little boys to a historic bed & breakfast is a challenge but you made us feel welcomed. They loved your pancake balls & sausage.

Business & Pleasure

So glad that I brought my wife along on the business trip. I went to my business meeting and dropped her at the King of Prussia Mall for shopping. Thanks for the suggestion. Great location and the chance to stay in a 17th century house. Thanks for your hospitality!

Weary Traveler Welcomed!

I could have sat in front of your walk-in fireplace for 3 days. Having breakfast in your old kitchen was such a treat for a Californian - thanks for taking care of me. Our apologies again for our late arrival, it was a long travel travel day yet you made us feel so welcome.

Old House Lovers

Great House! I thought my 1815 house in Connecticut was old but you've got me beat. Loved swapping renovation stories from one old house owners to another. We'll stay in touch with updates.

Villanova Parent

Inviting our Villanova U daughter to stay in our room with us was so kind. We got to spend more time with her and she loved getting away from campus. We will be back next month for the the Villanova/Geo Washington game.

Not a good place to stay.....

This was the dirtiest and dustiest b and b we ever stayed at. The food for breakfast had no taste. It was a terrible experience and we would never return there again.

Poor upkeep

Our room had old, dirty socks under the bed, possibly from past guests. The owner crept up the stairs and was listening in on us through the door at 10 past 8 in the morning while we were getting ready to come down for breakfast. Unclean and very creepy.
