Circa 1908. Now a haven focusing on comfort and hospitality, this classic bed & breakfast once served as Montara’s first post office, the town hall, and a country club for Spanish-American War veterans. Large living and dining room areas are filled with art and collectibles. Sleep soundly in one of the tranquil guest bedrooms then linger over a leisurely four-course breakfast. Stimulating conversation comes easily during afternoon tea. There are plenty of quiet spots including a swing and a hammock, to enjoy the fountains, orchard, rose, herb and vegetable gardens.

Nipomo,

Raymond and Emily were lovely hosts. They made us feel welcome and relaxed. Raymond's love of cooking was obvious in his gourmet afternoon tea delights and his marvelous breakfasts. The owners have so many interesting items to look at in their home you can spend hours browsing. The the easy conversation over tea and breakfast was stimulating and interesting. We will definitely consider staying here on a future trip!

We really enjoyed our stay. The gardens were great, the location was good and a fair walk down the hill to the ocean and dinner. I would definitely recommend. Thank you Raymond and Emily!

This is our favorite B&B. My wife and I stay there regularly. The inkeepers are gracious and helpful, the breakfasts are excellent, and the atmposhere is relaxing and serene. Our shoulders lower considerably when we visit. See my appreciation of the Goose & Turrets on my blog: http://csquaredthoughts.typepad.com/thoughts/2010/03/why-we-love-the-goose-and-turrets.html

We stay here twice a year--a truly relaxing getaway. Emily and Raymond, like many of their guests, are fascinating conversationalists. The gourmet breakfast is different every day. Each bedroom has its own theme, and the living room decorations reflect the owners' travels. They have tips on local attractions, including the elusive zonkey (zebra/donkey).

You have truly made an art of breakfast and tea-time conversation. We will be back.
