Description

Circa 1745. This 250-year-old inn, once owned by the grandson of William Penn, is surrounded by three wooded acres and is filled with 18th-century charm. The rooms are simple and elegant, featuring chandeliers, painted woodwork, quilts and period reproductions. Each of the guest rooms offers a special touch. The Presidential Suite features a sitting room with a fireplace, while the William Penn Suite boasts an original cathedral window. Other rooms include four-poster beds and fireplaces. Meals at the General Warren are a delight in one of the inn's three elegant candle-lit dining rooms. Start with a Caesar salad, prepared tableside or with a stuffed Portabello mushroom. Follow that with Beef Wellington and complete the meal with homemade Grand Marnier ice cream. Summer dishes feature locally grown produce and herbs from the inn's organic gardens. Gourmet magazine rated the inn's restaurant as one of Philadelphia's Top Tables.

Positive Travel Experience

Helpful, pleasant staff is important. Positive people add to a travel experience when they interact with hospitality in a professional manner. Your Innkeepers are a delightful example of this.

It was glorious to be back in the area and to stay in an historic inn that has kept the property in its original décor! Friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend to others.

Rehearsal Dinner

We love it here. We had our rehearsal dinner here 18 years ago and have been back as often as possible ever since. Your staff is courteous, professional and funny. We always feel at home. What a treat. Don't change a thing!

Fine Dining

We choose an inn based on the quality of the dining. Loved that locals patronize the bar and restaurant! Talking to them made us feel like part of the community!

Ambience - tiny, white lights in bushes and trees, beautiful fern displays. Kind and fun, open hearted and spirited staff.
