Absolutely the Best!

I have stayed at the Garden Cottage three years now while attending the Shakespeare Festival. I absolutely love this place. When I walk in for the first time, I instantly relax because I know that from the first moment of my stay to the last, every last detail is taken care of. And the food! I start daydreaming about the breakfasts months before my stay. I'v never had anything but the best. The rooms are clean and invite you to relax and feel at home. Staying here is a luxurious delight. My summers wouldn't be the same without a visit to the Garden Cottage. Kristin S.

A delightful visit.

This was our second stay at this lovely B&B and we enjoyed it as much or more than our first stay. Both the rooms we've had are lovely and comfortable - and I appreciate the small step stool I can use to help me into the sublime softness of the tall bed. Diana's breakfasts are a treat, creative, nourishing and set on a beautifully decorated table. And we always meet the most interesting people around the breakfast table, so that we often spend more time than we had anticipated chatting.

The Best B&B in Cedar City

Our recent visit with the owners of A Garden Cottage B&B, Diana and Gary was, as always, a wonderful event. The are few words to describe the garden except "exceptional". The room was spotless and welcoming thanks to the Cinderellas (just love that name). Breakfast is always tasty and plenty. It must be a great place because the guests are always interesting people who make for a lively morning of conversation.

Simplt the Best

Whether for the Shakesperian Festival, Sking at Brian Head, Exploring the beauty of the Southern Utah countryside or as my wife and I did on our last trip (our second) just kickback and fall in love with Cedar City. You cannot beat the hospitality of Gary and Diana at the Garden Cottage. We are always made to feel as family when there, the rooms are immaculate in desigen and cleanliness. Book early as we are not the only one's who love the Garden Cottage.

The Best

This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast. Our family usually chooses to stay where there is a pool. My girls at first were angry that there would be no pool. When we got there however, they felt like little princesses. We had a fabulous stay and the breakfast was amazing. It was a fun stay for our family and we will be back!

Our Romantic Getaway (our 4th visit

Dianna's taste for antique baubles, bangles, and beads adds atmosphere to well appointed rooms. Her excellent breakfast and unusual table companions (a drama teacher, a professor of religious history, and two computer geeks!) added to our desire to return.

Delightful B&B

Garden Cottage is a delightful B&B. Diana has wonderful antiques and the rooms are beautifully decorated. The innkeepers are very friendly and make your stay very comfortable. We stay at the Garden Cottage in the summer and in the fall when we attend the Shakespearean Festival. This is our favorite B&B of any we have stayed in anywhere! It is always a treat to stay here -- and the breakfasts are yummy, too

Wonderful, Quaint B & B

I am always amazed at the wonderful time we have at this quaint B & B...the breakfast is outstanding filled with fun filled conversation with other guests and the environment is a casual elegance. The rooms are immaculate, vintage furnishings and charm, charm, charm! It is a true cottage and the Innkeepers are wonderful.

Merry old England in Utah!

This was like driving 3 hours to England, in the middle of southern Utah! This cottage and garden are everything the pictures look like, absolutely charming, as are the owners. The rooms are exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated, the walls however are a little thin, so careful what you say and do! The breakfasts are fabulous, I can't wait to go back and try all the other rooms.

Can't Wait to go Back

My husband and I got engaged at the Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast eight years ago and have been returning every year ever since. We love staying at Bed and Breakfasts but this one is our favorite. The rooms are decorated so beautifully, the garden is gorgeous, and the breakfast is delicious. Diana and Gary (the owners) always make us feel so welcome - we can't wait to go back.

A Wonderful Surprise!

We had to arrive rather late in the evening, and were worried that this would create some problems. They were very kind and catered to our needs. We wanted something different from the run of the mill hotel room, and this was a wonderful surprise! It was like visiting an old friend that had a special room waiting just for me! The grounds were magical with all of the flower gardens, and the breakfast was delicious. We have recommended it to friends and will visit again!

Love, love, love The Garden Cottage

I was driving from Phoenix, AZ to Boise, ID, and needed to stop for the night along the way. I'm a young woman travelling alone, and I knew that I would feel more comfortable and safe staying at a bed and breakfast rather than your average roadside motel. The Garden Cottage was perfect! I stayed in The Rose Room which had a very comfortable bed, a cozy little couch to curl up and read on, and a heavenly claw foot tub. The bath was just what I needed after several hours of driving! Diana was so warm and welcoming. My only complaint was that the breakfast was so delicious, and the conversations between Diana and I over breakfast were so interesting that I lingered a bit too long, and didn't get back on the road until a bit later than I had planned! It was the perfect respite between two long days of driving, and I would highly recommend a stay at The Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast.

Comforts of Home!

I enjoyed the stay, and was able to relax and rest in peace and quiet, unlike the busy motels on the main street. The campus was just up the street so a morning walk at SUU was perfect too. Diana was so pleasant, and the breakfast a real treat. I look forward to bringing the family back during the Shakespeare festival in the summer.

Merry Christmas at the Cottage

Last summer my husband and I stayed at the Garden Cottage for several days while attending the Shakespeareane Festival. One of the reasons for choosing the cottage was it's close proxcimity to the festival, however we had such an enjoyable stay that we can not imagine staying elswhere. Before leaving we made plans to return in December with our seven year old grandson. We did return the weeken before Christmas to see every room in the cottage decorated for the holidays. We all had a wonderful time. In the summer the gardens are very impresive. The breakfast are always very special, the rooms are delightful, but most of all the owners are so friendly that you instantly feel like old friends. We will never stay any where else when in the area.

We love the Garden Cottage

I have stayed in both hotels and B&B's and I positively like the second ones best. But this one rates higher than most because it is friendly, clean, gorgeous foods, beautiful antiques, lots of silence when most needed and company when wanted. My girls and our sons all love the place and especially Diana who is friendly, happy to laugh at their stories and caters to everyone. We love going there when we are on the Shakespeare Festival gig as it is within one block, entertains other festival experts and has such a quaint atmosphere. It makes a big difference to know the inn-keepers and have them greet you by name and act as if they love your children also, as I know they do. That is the joy. That they are sincere in their love of the people that they serve. We love it and them and will keep going back as long as they keep it going.

A delightful Find!

My husband, my dad (90 years old), my stepmother and myself stayed two nights here. What a wonderful find. My dad put it best when he said, upon entering the front door, "I feel like I have come home!" The home is full of Victorian "clutter' but never feels overwhelming. Everywhere you look, there is something fun to look at. Diana has done such a wonderful job of decorating. Her rooms are like museum "set ups' but with the comfortable feel that totally welcomes and embraces you when you walk in. Her breakfasts were delicious and totally prepared you for the day with the good food and pleaseant company. Again, it was the little touches that made it so pleasant; the great food, beautiful dishwear, dainty linens and table decorations that fit the season. The physical layout of the house is also fun, with a fun staircase and very nicenise rooms, each with a private bath. The location also worked very well for us. We were able to go to both Zion and Bryce Canyons with easy day trips and then come "home". Diana is a perfect "hostess'. I felt like I was leaving a very good friend when I had to say goodby to her> The Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay, I very highly recommend it. Debbi Issaquah Washington

Wonderful........

Having never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, I did not know what to expect. Now I am convinced this is the only way to travel! What a beautiful home Diana and Gary have created for us - with superb food and hospitality. We stayed in the Lilac Room, which is perfect as it has its own entrance. We are looking forward to visiting them again in December and experiencing a different room. Thanks again, Gary and Diana, for a wonderful anniversary weekend. J & S

Super Friendly with a Perfect Locat

I stayed at the Garden Cottage with my mom and 10 year old daughter for four days while we did the Shakespeare Festival. Diana & Gary were very friendly and extremely accommodating. (My mom needed to keep medication in the fridge, etc.) The fact that they had wireless Internet service and a TV/DVD combo we could use was also a real plus! The location cannot be beat if you are going to the Shakespeare Festival ... it was a block away from all the plays & events!! We'd just walk when it was time for a performance and had no trouble zipping back to get the right tickets when I'd brought the wrong set or to leave souvenirs in our room. :) Breakfast was excellent ... especially if you like quiche! Diana made a different type of quiche each day, along with fresh fruit and various breads (muffins, coffee cake, etc). My daughter was delighted that she could have hot chocolate every morning, while my mom had tea and I (who am diabetic) drooled over fruit juice and smoothies (but mostly drank water). All in all an excellent choice for a wonderful experience!

Charming

When we saw the pictures of “The Garden Cottage” on their web site, we thought it looked very charming. But after staying there we realize that the true charm comes from the hosts - Diana and Gary. We stayed in the bright and cheery Morning Glory Room. We loved that we could go out the private entrance directly into the lovely garden. In the morning after a wonderful breakfast we enjoyed sitting in the old fashioned lawn chairs to read for a bit. My brother and his wife, who came to the Shakespeare Festival with us but didn’t book early enough to get a room at the Cottage, came with their books to sit and read with us. He said “This is so pleasant and beautiful, we are going to have to come here next year for sure.” We agree with him. The only thing I would suggest is to book sometime from mid June to mid July for the peak beauty of the gardens. It was still beautiful in mid Aug, but roses and hollyhocks were past their prime.

Wonderful Garden Cottage

My daughter, granddaughter, and I spent four days at the Garden Cottage B & B in Cedar Dity, while attending the Utah Shakespearean Festival. It's a cute house with lovely rooms, and we felt as though we were staying with good friends. It's definitely my first choice in Cedar City.

This is our second year staying at the Garden Cottage, and it will not be our last! We absolutely love the place. It is within walking distance to the acclaimed Shakespearean Festival, but feels off-the-beaten-path. The rooms are immaculately kept and decorated. The breakfasts are divine, as are the hosts. You'll love it!

Home Away from Home

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Garden Cottage Bed and Breakfast in Cedar City, Utah for four delightful days and nights. I have stayed here regularly on my visits to beautiful Southern Utah due largely to the Inn Keepers Diana and Gary Simkins. They are so welcoming and friendly; it’s like coming home when I arrive. The Victorian Cottage is utterly charming inside and out. The gardens are magnificent, brimming with fragrant roses, towering hollyhocks, and delicate Queen Anne’s lace. Inside this storybook cottage are five breathtaking chambers. I stayed in the sunny Morning Glory room. This room has its own private entrance and a glorious view of the gardens. The décor and detail in the furnishings of this room are delightful, each piece has a story to tell and Diana is happy to share the histories behind the wonderful antiques. The antique bed is heavenly! The linens are crisp and clean and the modern queen size pillow-top mattress made for a remarkable nights sleep. The only thing that got me out of my delightful room was the knowledge of an amazing breakfast. Diana and Gary offer a FULL breakfast; leave your “continental” appetites behind. I savored the yummy fruit dish, the fluffy pastry and the flavorful quiche, all served on fine china. Absolutely Delicious! I will stay nowhere else when enjoying Southern Utah… I have found the absolute best home away from home.

A great place to stay to relax after an active day. The living room is open for guests to enjoy, our room was comfortable and the hospitality along with the breakfast was wonderful. It felt like home

Our first time staying at a bed and breakfast- now we don't think we'll ever be able to stay at a chain hotel/motel again! This bed and breakfast felt like home. The hosts were very gracious and accomodating. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. The garden and the rest of the home are very inviting, we wish we could have stayed longer.

A Great B&B in Cedar City, Ut

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage B&B. It truly lives up to it's name as the gardens in front of the house and in back are beautiful. The rooms are also very beautifully furnished and clean. And the breakfasts were delicious and served on lovely china. The innkeepers, Gary and Dianna, are very friendly and hospitable and did their most to make our visit a good one. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.

Charming and Comfortable

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at The Garden Cottage. From the minute you walk in the door, until the time you check out, you are well taken care of and made to feel at home. The rooms are perfectly decorated, the beds are comfortable, and the breakfasts are delicious. It is just a short walk to the Shakespearean Festival theaters, which makes it wonderful to not have to try and find a parking place. Diana is very nice and friendly. We found new friends!

Diana and her husband simply make you feel like you have been friends for years. And we will be. We met guests who are interesting people and, in fact, my wife still uses the services of a beauty consultant we met on our first trip who is from our home town. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The baths have everything that you need for travel. And the food, the food is simply terrific. A great place to visit when in the Cedar City area.

The Garden Cottage was a wonderful place to stay. When we drove up I felt like I had been transported into a tranquil fairy tale. The breakfasts were the highlight of the day, and the cottage is located 2 minutes away from the Shakespeare festival. Victorian Experience

Our stay was most enjoyable in the lovely furnished Hollyhock Room. The beautiful lush Victorian gardens draped the front of the cottage and enclosed the backyard. Gary & Diana were on hand to welcome us and anticpate our every need. A delicious breakfaast was served to us in a simple wetting yet with elegrance. The location was convenient in getting in and out of town and to a scenic drive up the mountain to our choice of restaurant for dinner.
