The Cottage House Hotel

Circa 1898. The inn is located in Council Grove, the rendezvous point on the Santa Fe Trail. The building grew from a boarding house to an elegant home before it became the hotel of a local banker. The home's original section dates to 1872, and the home was built in stages until 1898. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the inn has been completely renovated and is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture in a prairie town. There is a honeymoon cottage on the premises, as well.
