Thanks for Everything!

My wife and I were in Portland for a working honeymoon - she was performing with the Portland Symphony Orchestra - and The Chadwick was the perfect place to stay. Words cannot do the breakfasts justice, and the "broken-glass" cupcakes for Halloween were almost as funny as they were delicious. Scot & Laura could not have been more helpful and easy to talk with, and their tips and suggestions were spot-on (try the fries at Duck Fat!) As you can see, the house is gorgeous and the room was cozy and comfortable - we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The snow that arrived shortly before us added the perfect scenic touch to our visit and we were headed to Florida for our next stop to thaw out. It was too bad there wasn't a Chadwick there to stay in! Thanks for everything!

This place is a treasure!

This is our third stay at The Chadwick and we will keep coming back. The inn is so lovely, the bed fantastic, and the food delicious. It has become our home away from home in Portland. We have enjoyed our four years as Colby football parents, but have always been rushing around. When we return, we will have no agenda except to relax, enjoy Portland and The Chadiwck. The Stay & Gourmet weekend was beautifully orchestrated. The best thing about staying here is the kindness and warmth of Scot & Laura. This place is a treasure!

Perfect Place to Unwind

Thanks so much for a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. The Chadwick was the perfect place to unwind, take a breather and relax. Our room was just beautiful - I especially liked the bed curtain - and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pumpkin spice waffles were just delicious. Most of all, we really appreciated your kindness and hospitality. We look forward to coming back to The Chadwick often.

A Great Time in Portland

We had a great time in Portland. The hospitality at The Chadwick was evident everywhere. We enjoyed the breakfasts, the recommendations for places to go and the snacks, cookies and wine bar were a nice touch. We certainly hope to return and we will recommend it to friends. We don't usually stay at B&Bs more than a night or two. After three days, The Chadwick felt like home! Scot & Laura, you two have been so welcoming and fun, too. Hope to be back soon!

Pictures did not disappoint!

We came here on a bit of a whim for a New Year's romantic getaway. If possible, we'll be back next year! Scot & Laura were fabulous and breakfast was amazing! This is our absolute favorite room - the pictures did not disappoint.

Five Stars!

We've never stayed in a more welcoming B&B, or one with so many unexpected, but appealing touches - the super-comfortable canopy bed, the 24-hour complementary snack bar, the attractive and functional fireplace room heater, the enormously varied music piped into every downstairs room (unobtrusively low volume), the sparkling clean and efficient bathroom, and - last, but probably most - the varied, world-class breakfasts - pancakes studded with blueberries, blackberry cobbler waffles, cranberry pomegranate juice, bowls of fresh mixed berries, and - for the minimalists among us - go for Laura & Scot's magnificent oatmeal with raisins and skim milk. Altogether, an unbeatably satisfying three winter nights in Portland.

The Perfect Spot in Portland

We have now found the perfect spot to stay whenever we're in Portland. Great rooms, perfect location, amazing breakfasts, but what makes it extra special is the staff. Scot & Laura, you rock!

Peaceful & Quiet

Loved the views out the windows at 5:00 am - peaceful and quiet, while I sat, cozy and warm, next to the little fireplace heater. Loved the breakfast and the great coffee! Thanks, Laura & Scot, we'll tell people about your pretty rooms and attention to detail.

Home Away From Home

Coming to The Chadwick was like coming to our home away from home. Everything the house was warm and inviting. Very comfortable and enjoyable. The service was second to none and the breakfasts are award-winning as far as we are concerned! Thank you so much Scot & Laura for a beautiful weekend!

Our Three Year Anniversary

For this weekend, the Longfellow Room was the home we wish we had in Boston. Charming, friendly and extremely comfortable, The Chadwick exemplifies the best of New England B&Bs. This was a fabulous place to spend our three year anniversary.

One day wasn't enough

Laura & Scot, Two words - AWE SOME! What a find! Having made this our last stop from driving up the coast, we regret not making it a final two day stay. Impeccable accommodations! Breakfast...fabulous. Hospitality, the absolute best. One day wasn't enough. Thank you both!

The most amazing experience!

Scot & Laura, What started off on a whim transformed into the most amazing experience ever. The inn is superb, the class was phenomenal, the food was diving, but was the people who made it so special. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. What a perfect setup to get engaged! We'll be back!

Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! We can't wait to come back again! Scot and Laura were so warm and welcoming, we truly felt like we were home. We loved the new furniture in the Chamberlain. The leather chair is great! In fact, we loved everything about the house. Breakfast was OUTSTANDING every day. It was great to wake up and smell such yummy things cooking. Thank you again for a wonderful time. See you in December! P.S. Irene didn't mess up our stay!

Home Away from Home

What a wonderful vacation this has been. Scot and Laura are the perfect hosts. Breakfast each morning was both delicious and unique. We will be attempting to duplicate some of them back home. The Chadwick feels like our home away from home. Portland is such a welcoming city. The trolley tour, a must. The sunset cruise, both beautiful and relaxing. The food in town is amazing. We will be sure to make this a repeat vacation destination!

An Amazing Visit

Thank you Scot & Laura for an amazing visit! We had the privilege of staying in two different rooms and they were both absolutely beautiful! SO comfortable and inviting...we will most definitely be coming again! We only wish we could have stayed more than two nights - however, in the short time we were here, we made life-lasting memories and The Chadwick will be our hearts fondly forever. P.S. Breakfast = a whole lot of awesome!

Home - but better!

Dear Scot & Laura, Tim and I enjoyed our stay in the Abbott room immensely. Your thoughtful approach to service made us feel like more than guests in your beautiful B&B - we felt as though we were home (but better!) We will most definitely be telling all our friends about The Chadwick. We wish you both all the best in becoming (no - being) the best bed & breakfast Portland has to offer.
