Tahlequah is best known as the center of the Cherokee nation and the city provides visitors with a glimpse of the Cherokee American Indian culture and history. Cherokee Heritage Center is a museum located about three miles away from the city center. The facility includes an amphitheater, a modern library and a museum gallery.
