267 N W Cliff StNewport, OR 97365-3707
Circa 1910. In the National Register, the dark green shingled, bluff-top Sylvia Beach Hotel originally served as a honeymoon hotel. Sylvia Beach was a patron of literature during the '20s and '30s in Paris. The hotel named for her offers rooms decorated according to authors such as Mark Twain and Agatha Christie (oceanfront), Tennessee Williams, Herman Melville, Jane Austen and F. Scott Fitzgerald (ocean views). The Colette Room offers a fireplace, white bed, deck and light-filled sitting area. The oceanfront library, bright and airy with comfortable chairs, sofa and fireplace, is another wonderful place from which to enjoy the roar of the sea while snuggling with a favorite book. The inn's oceanfront restaurant is called Tables of Content.
