Strong House Inn

I stayed at the Strong House Inn back in the 90's. We loved it and it was the most romantic get away I've ever had. Would recommend this place highly to anyone and everyone. The people here were fantastic! Wish I could go back but live to far now to go. Maybe one day! Best to you all!

We had a wonderful time for our 6 nights at the Strong House Inn. The room and service were great. The Innkeepers were more than helpful in offering ideas for unique and interesting places for us to visit on our vacation. They also directed us to some great places for dining. We partcularly enjoyed the french toast one morning for breakfast.

Thank you for making Sandy and me so Happy on our Engagement proposal in your gazebo. We will never forget the magic moments. Our room was extra special just the way to start a new life together. This has been the best romantic time of my life. We will grow more in love each day because of Vermont. Thank you for everything.

I too was wary at what we would find after purchasing 2 vouchers from Living Social, but as we walked into this suite all of that dissapted at one glance at the gorgeous ground and decor! The room was perfect, jaccuzzi a dream and the hospitality amazing and sadly rare. The room ended up the scene of our engagement which makes it that much sweeter of an experience. Returning is a guarantee! Thank you Mary and Hugh

Wonderful overnight stay in an amazing room. We loved the accommodations, especially the fireplace and jacuzzi.. Black Sheep Bistro was wonderful. Enjoyed the wine and chocolates.. Very relaxing stay. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We are now off to I'm sure a delightful breakfast.. We will definately return.

I bought a package on Living Social which included a stay at the Strong House Inn, a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant, wine, and chocolates. When we were driving to the inn,we couldn't find it and drove around for a bit before calling the inn and asking for better directions. The owner was kind of rude about it and then when we showed up, he berated us for not making reservations at the restaurant the gift certificate was for, and implied we arrived late (we got there at 7pm.) The room was beautiful and the breakfast was pretty good. At check out, the owner told us how much the tax for the room was- which we were expecting, and then said, "And you haven't tipped yet. How much would you like to tip? The minimum is $32 and the recommended is $64." I was totally surprised, and because I was caught off guard, I opted for the $32 instead of challenging her. I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts before and this had never happened. We tipped the restaurant on the pre-gift certificate amount and left a few dollars in the room for whoever cleaned it. While the room was great, and the food was good, the way the owner demanded the $32 'tip' out of the blue really put a bad taste in my mouth.
