Circa 1871. Built by a sea captain in the 1800s, this French Second Empire Victorian recently has been renovated and redecorated to offer modern indulgences with an old-fashioned charm. Feel right at home in the comfortable living room with games, puzzles, VCR and videotapes. A large selection of books on local history as well as fiction and non-fiction are available to read. Guest bedrooms are named for Brooklyn neighborhoods where the innkeepers once lived or worked. The Clinton Hill boasts a clawfoot tub and shower and a private deck. A hearty breakfast buffet served in the dining room is sure to please. Vegetarian diets are graciously accommodated with advance notice. An apartment and a cottage provide more space and privacy. The grounds feature fish ponds, fountains, a wisteria-covered gazebo and a hammock.
