Historic Interest

Originally known as the Stoneleigh, this home built of limestone was constructed on the bluff of the St. Croix River in 1908. With the help of architects and contractors, the personal residence was carefully transformed into the St. Croix River Inn and opened its doors to the public in 1984.

Loved Our Stay!

We stayed here for two nights, in the Cascade room. It was spacious, and relaxing. We loved that we could overlook the river during our breakfast in our room! We really enjoyed the decor and overall "feel" of it... very modern updates in a house with old character. The breakfast bread was our favorite part of the breakfast:) We stayed in the wintertime, and it was very cozy (but spacious). The Inn Keeper was very sweet. We ate at a fabulous restaurant called Grecco's one night, and I HIGHLY recommend it! We had been hoping to go snow tubing at one of the two nearby skiing/tubing places, but we found out that they are only open on certain days for tubing. We were a little bummed, but we just ended up hanging out in our room, reconnecting, watching movies, playing cards, and drinking wine... it was a great place to stay and relax! If we came back, we'd probably try out the Stillwater room, or the Osceola room, just to change it up. They also appeared to have a little more privacy, for reference. However, all these rooms are pretty private. You definitely get more of a "hotel" feel, with only a hint of a feeling that you're staying in a cool house. Osceola, WI is a very tiny town... we had been looking to get away from everything, and it was perfect for that (even though we could have gone skiing if we wanted to).
