“Perfect for a Casual Family Retreat”
Lori Harding-Chiefe10/12/2010
We just returned from spending Columbus Day Weekend at the Snowy Owl Inn with 49 friends and relatives where we held a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband. It was AMAZING!
I visited over a dozen venues looking for just the right location to host this party. I wanted a place with lots of comfortable spaces for our family to gather in groups to hang out, play games and socialize. We needed a place that was kid friendly and had lots of activities and local attractions to keep everyone entertained. I also wanted an experienced manager and event planners that were easy to work with and would help me make this an event to remember. I found it all at the Snowy Owl Inn. Tracy, the group sales planner and Steve, the inn General Manager were fantastic. From my first phone call they were very helpful and informative. When I told them I wanted to stop by to check the place out later that day they told me to come on up. I arrived within 1 hour and was given a personal tour by Steve. He showed me all the inn had to offer along with many of the different room types our guests would be able to choose from (including pet friendly rooms). By the very next day I received an email from Tracy with rooms, rates, menus to choose from and a complete explanation of what was included for the prices quoted – including options for our vegetarian guests. The food was fantastic. The servers were very pleasant and efficient. Even when they had to dodge a couple of overly excited kids in attendance while carrying full trays, they did it with a smile. Everything they promised was delivered exactly as (or better than) expected including assistance with an outside entertainer we hired and setting up a video screen for a video we wanted to show. They even helped me with a couple of little white lies that needed to be told to my husband to keep his party a complete surprise.
All in all everything went off without a hitch. My husband was completely surprised and the 49 guests in attendance had a GREAT time. If you are looking for a great venue with a casual atmosphere and fantastic staff, the Snowy Owl Inn is the place to go!

“We love Snowy Owl.......”

I have been a guest at Snowy Owl for about 20 years now. The have toured the surrounding inns in the valley and have always found Snowy Owl to be the best. It is the coziest and prettiest. I started to bring my children there and they also agree that they love Snowy Owl. The only complaint I have is that over the years, it has changed. All fireplaces have been converted to gas fireplaces, which I do not like and they are hardly ever lit in the fall. The sprial staircase with a beautiful view has been closed off and the hot free breakfast has been taken away. These are all things that we loved when we visited and are now taken away. Although, I will always keep returning to Snowy Owl, I just wish they could bring back their old ways.

“Hockey Weekend”
Bill D1/11/2010
We recently stayed here as part of a youth hockey group. As far as location goes, it was ideal as you can walk to the rink and a few restaurants/shops. The inn was also conducive for a large group as it is wide open with some nice areas for groups/kids to interact/mingle. There's a shuttle to the mountain for skiing and a small restaurant/pub for breakfast and drinks as well. The rooms pretty much suck so plan to spend very little time in them. They are small, the beds are tiny and uncomfortable and the heating system is controlled by a window unit that doubles as an air conditioner in the summer so it goes on and off all night. I have three small children and we were crammed in to a 15 x 15 area like sardines. Add luggage/ski stuff and there's not much room left. I found the nightly rate to incredibly over-priced but you're somewhat at the mercy of the location.

“this place blows”
bob saget1/1/2010
ok...the furniture is from the 70's...service sucks...beds are uncomfy...rooms are smaller than they seem on the website...towels smelt like rotten blueberries for some reason...appliances like microwaves were so old they still had dials on them instead of buttons..and the stupidest part was coffee in the main lobby wasnt free it was like $1.50 for a small cup which is rediculous being that coffe should be free as a guest to begin with...the free breakfast is a joke of juice and donuts and if u want the buffet of eggs and pancakes its like 15 bucks a person or some crazy high price like that...overpriced overall for what your getting...

“Todd”
T H10/10/2009
We found the rooms to be dated and poorly decorated. The barthroom was tiny, the TV was from the 80's some where. and the blinds did not cover the entire window (Had to use a blanket for it). They had limited rooms with queen or larger beds, and the rooms were connecting. The one thing that worked great was the heater. They also did not provide coffee for the coffee machine in the room for sale or otherwise. I found the hotel price extremely high priced for the ammenities. The only saving grace was the area surrounding the hotel was beautiful.

“beautiful wknd conference retreat”
Feiyang ChenChestnut Hill, MA

Once again, Snowy Owl was a great location for our annual leadership retreat to accommodate 40+ guests. Conference room had all that we needed, staff were friendly, food was plentiful, and the rooms were more than comfy. Really enjoyed the small lounge areas too. It was great to have a widescreen TV area for our sports fans, and although we ended up not using the pool it was enticing nonetheless. Thanks for another great stay!

“Romantic Getaway”

We had a very short stay at the Snowy Owl Inn but it was well worth the trip. we were looking for a quick getaway close to home and found it here. Sitting out on the porch in the nice Fall Breeze was so relaxing, watching the little chipmunk at work, visiting all of the little shops within walking distance to the Inn. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the jacuzzi, the room was spacious and clean. The character of the Inn was what we loved most! We had a very short trip to the Inn but will definately come back in the near future and tell everyone we know about it!!

“A Great Getaway!”
Eileen PetersAmherst, NH

I had occasion to visit the Snowy Owl Inn recently with my teenage son and his friend.
We were booked into the Inn's Fireside Suite. It was spacoius, light and very clean. The kitchen had a full refrigerator/freezer, stove and microwave oven. It had plenty of cupboard and counter space, and came stocked with dishes, silverware and pots and pans. The living area adjoining the kitchen had a dining area with table and cahirs, and a sitting area with plenty of seating. There was a large television with cable, and a DVD player as well. On the second level, there were two large bedrooms and a bathroom. They were clean and well maintained. Each bedroom also had it's own television with cable.
We dined at the Inn's restaurant while we were there. The food was well prepared and tasted great! The menu had a good variety of food, and the prices were reasonable. My son has food allergies, and George, the Inn's Chef, was able to prepare some food using ingredients that he was able to have. Thanks, George!!! We'll definately be back!
When we checked in, my son & his friend were given complimentary guest passes. These passes allowed them a free 2 hour mountain bike rental, a free 1 hour rental of a canoe, kayak or paddle boat on the lake, free ice skating at the town rink, and a host of other free amenities. With two young teens in need of some independance, this was fantastic! They also spent a great deal of time in the Inn's indoor pool and hot tubs.
The staff members were friendly and helpful. The Inn's managers, Steve and Jennifer Hodges went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I reccomend the Snowy Owl Inn to anyone, no matter what the season!

“A Great Summer Getaway!”
Jack Evans8/30/2009
We were looking for a place close to home and are so happy we found the Snowy Owl Inn. The Inn is comfortable and cozy. We especially liked all the natural wood and the space. Of course having on on site restaurant was an added bonus, and the food was fairly priced and tasted great. Perhaps the best deal though was the Summer Unlimited program. They give you a card that is good for just about everything there is to to in town, and there is a lot. Never had to reach in my pocket to pay for anything and had a great time. Our favorite activity was the chair lift up the mountain and the hike back to the bottom. If you like waterfalls check it out! We will definitely ba back.
