Description

Circa 1874. The Simpson House is currently the only bed and breakfast in North America holding a Five Diamond award from AAA. If you were one of the Simpson family's first visitors, you would have arrived in Santa Barbara by stagecoach or by ship. The railroad was not completed for another 14 years. A stately Italianate Victorian house, the inn, a historic landmark, is situated on an acre of English gardens hidden behind a 20-foot-tall eugenia hedge. In the evenings, guests are treated to a sampling of local wines, as well as a lavish Mediterranean hors d'oeuvre buffet. The evening turndown service includes delectable chocolate truffles. The innkeepers can arrange for in-room European spa treatments, and guests can workout at a nearby private health club. Guests also receive complimentary passes for the Santa Barbara trolley.

journey

Perfectly restored and impeccably furnished. Your hospitality is warm and heartfelt and the food is delectable. Whoever said that 'the journey is better than the destination' couldn't have known about the Simpson House.
