My lovely bride and I stayed at the Shellmont for a mini-honeymoon, and it was an extremely relaxing, romantic experience. They upgraded our room for free to the carriage house (a separate cottage behind the main house) so that we could have more space and more privacy, and they were extremely accommodating to our plans and wishes. The carriage house was lovely, with tasteful decoration, a fantastic bathroom (with jacuzzi and steam shower), and a kitchen. The gardens around it (with koi pond/fountain) were beautiful as well. The breakfast was exquisite--we had an excellent quiche one day and tasty waffles the next. The bacon was perfectly cooked and the fruit was very fresh, too. Debbie even brought us our breakfast the morning after our wedding (and an hour later than their normal "late" breakfast time, too). We also got chocolate-dipped strawberries at turndown (so good). With the "romance package," we got extra chocolate strawberries, a dozen roses, a cheese plate (very good), and a gift card to a nearby restaurant. The Inn is in a nice little neighborhood just a couple blocks from lots of restaurants, bars, and entertainment. Being able to walk to things in Atlanta is quite an unusual luxury, as normally we have to drive nearly everywhere. Ed and Debbie were very friendly and gracious hosts, and helped us whenever we had questions. All in all, it was an excellent experience. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing place to stay in Atlanta, you can't beat the Shellmont Inn. It's far better than a standard hotel experience.

“An Extraordinary Place to Stay”

From the moment that you arrive at The Shellmont, it is clear that this place is truly several cuts above the average B & B. The Victorian decor is lovely, with great attention to detail. Our room was spotless, gracisiously appointed and very comfortable. It felt like heaven to crawl into the bed at the end of a busy day! And the bathroom was stunning. I couldn't resist taking a long soak in the spa tub (there was also a great shower)! The whole atmosphere is welcoming. The breakfast were delish and more than ample. Debbie and Ed were so kind and helpful. Their suggestions added much to our visit to Atlanta.
