Comprised of seven historic guest houses spread over a grand estate, this inn graces 35 scenic park-like acres near downtown Fredericksburg in Texas hill country. Log cabins, specialty homes, a farm house, rock barn, flower gardens, rolling pastures, towering oak trees and Settlers Creek reside with a donkey, sheep and native deer. The accommodations feature wonderful 18th and 19th century antiques, central air and heat, wood-burning fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, kitchens or kitchenettes, an outdoor grill and a porch. A continental breakfast is delivered to each door. Visit Austin and San Antonio, a little more than an hour away.

This wonderful home was built as a wedding present for a descendent of the original settlers. The spacious rooms (the dining room accommodates eight) have tall ceilings and are complimented with antiques and, like the other homes at Settlers Crossing, the interior design is by Marcia Bland Brown. Inviting white wicker furniture on the porch sets off the blue house with white trim. Relax on the front porch and you might get a glimpse of some deer. Take a stroll during the Spring and enjoy the abundant wildflowers.
