Wabasha is the oldest city in Minnesota thanks to the Mississippi River allowing settlers to give us our start. In either direction to the north or south, the Great River Road Trail along Highway 61 showcases many bird species including the bald eagle, golden eagles, trumpeter swans and more. Stop in and learn more at our National Eagle Center in downtown Wabasha along the river. In the summer time enjoy live music on Friday nights under the bridge just blocks away from your door step. Walking distance to shops and restaurants that fit any foodies palate of taste from traditional burgers, to Mexican, Chinese, Irish Pub fare, pizza and ice cream. Leave room for homemade chocolates from The Chocolate Escape or fudge at Lark Toys in Kellogg, MN, just 6 miles south. Lark Toys will delight the kid in you with their hand carved working carousel or the many toys made locally. In either direction within 20-30 minutes you will access a Minnesota or Wisconsin State Park with hiking, biking trails in the summer to snowshoeing or cross country skiing. Want to downhill ski, then enjoy Coffee Mill Ski & Snowboard just minutes from downtown Wabasha. If you enjoy wine or craftbeer then you are in luck as Wabasha has their very own brewery Hoppy Girl Brewing, LLC and just 3 miles away Reads Landing Brewing Co. and plenty more breweries within 15-40 minute drive in any direction. Our area is also known as the Great River Road Wine Trail and boasts numerous award winning wineries. Hop aboard our wino wagon or hop bus for a save ride to and from your tours. So many adventures to partake in from kayaking tours or rentals from Broken Paddle Guiding to guided tours at Whitewater State Park or a Fat Bike Tour in the winter along the snow covered trails in the backwaters of the Mississippi River. After your adventures take in a massage on premise or soak in your jacuzzi tub. Grab a book, a movie, play a board game or cards and chill because 9:00am five course breakfast will be waiting for you. Enjoy! By Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast & Adventure.
