Sasabe is a border community located in the Altar Valley in Pima County, Arizona. Despite its being small, and unincorporated, the importance of Sasabe lies in the fact that it provides a minor and less-used border crossing between Mexico and the United States. The community was established by the Spanish who colonized Mexico and much of Arizona. Sasabe is surrounded by the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge.
