Description

Circa 1898. Two towers, several balconies and a wraparound porch are features of this unique Queen Anne Victorian. Its romantic location half way between the Black River walkway and Lake Michigan offers pleasant waterside strolls and close proximity to the beach. The inn is also across from Stanley Johnson Park. Request one of the three round guest rooms in the towers; all offer fireplaces and private balconies. The Tower Suite boasts splendid views as well. Breakfast features a gourmet entree such as wild rice quiche, creamy breakfast lasagna, or an egg casserole and includes fresh fruit and baked goods. The inn was built as part of a resort and during recent renovation old love letters, now on display, were found in the walls. Enjoy the white wicker swing on the porch underneath the soft breeze of ceiling fans. Evening snacks are served at 6 p.m. and bedtime cookies at 8 p.m.

Beautiful and relaxing

This was out first visit here and sure won't be our last. We enjoyed our stay so mush, we extended an extra day. the pool was great after a day at the beach. The food was all home made and very good. The workers here really went out of their way for us. Loved the fact that all rooms have a private balcony.

Just love this place Best Birthday

Our first time here and it won't be the last time. Such a lovely place with great people and food. Rooms are nice with private bathrooms and king size beds. We had breakfast on the porch outside. The beach is only a block away. So much to do. The girl in the kitchen made the best cookies and cakes. I had the best birthday here at the Sand castle.

Very Relaxing

We picked the right place to come on our 10th anniversary. This is just what we needed. Good food, friendly people and a fireplace in our room. The breakfast was very good, everything made right there. The best coffee in town. We will definately be back.

Like being at home

We could not believe how nice the Sand Castle is, we travel quite a bit and this is one of the most beautiful Inns we have ever stayd at. The food, the pool, the location, just everything right here. Truely a gem so close to the beach. Thank-you for all you did to make our stay so enjoyable.

Time and Time again

Every year we come back to this wonderful Inn. After staying in many different rooms over the years we think we have found our favorite! The Trellis Room. Thanks so much for the hospitality and the wonderful meals. Your kindness and frienship is what we look forward to year after year. Love the cookies!!

Amazing Stay

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Sand Castle Inn and had the most wonderful time. The food was so good, all the homemade goodies all day long. We enjoyed the fireplace in our room and the huge flat screen tv was a hit for watching the ball game. We plan on coming back in the summer. Can't wait!!

Too good to be true

This is our second trip to South Haven and our first stay at the Sand Castle. We love to stay at B&B's-they're like a retreat and this experience will be treasured. Perfect location to the beach and harbor area. Cozy room, fabulous front porch for breakfast, friendly staff & terrific pool. We are now SH fans!!

Many Thanks

Thank-you for a great place to stay. Just got married and came to the west side of the state for a mini honeymoon. We have never stayed at a B&B and we sure picked a great one to start with! The room, food and hospitality were outstanding. We will be back in a year to celebrate our 1st anniversary. Can't wait.

I'm a believer

First stay at a B&B. I fought staying at B&B's for years. My wife was right. At least the Sand Castle proved me wrong. Great place and the staff makes you feel right at home. Thanks for a most enjoyable stay! Can't wait to return.

Beautiful

My husband surprised me with a nice getaway for our 10th anniversary and it's been such a perfect day. Our room is beautiful as is the whole place. We had perfect weather as we walked into town and checked out all the shops and then checked out the festival. I recommend this B+B to anyone. THank you!

First Time

Thank you for a great place to stay. Just got married on 6-11-11 and came to the west side of the state for a "mini" honeymoon. Have never stayed at a B&B, and we sure picked a great one to start with. The room, food and hospitality was outstanding! We will be back in a year to celebrate our 1st anniversary.

Great Memories

My husband and I celebrated our 1st anniversary in this Inn. We had a wonderful time! That was 13 years ago. We thought it would be fun to come back to this lovely Inn to celebrate our 14th anniversary. And again we had a lovely time. Breakfast was delicious and the Innkeepers were great. We will be coming back!!

Amazing Time!

What a beautiful place to get away and celebrate our 2nd anniversary! Everyone here was so nice and made us incredibly comfortable in every way possible. The food was delicious! It was wonderful to spend a relaxing weekend before our summer starts getting busy. We would love doing this again sometime soon! Thank you!

Perfect Anniversary

We spent our 1st wedding anniversary here at the Sand Castle and had a lovely time. This was our 1st time to South Haven and to a B&B. We had the best room, the best food and the best time ever. The weekend was so peaceful and relaxing. We also had a lot of fun sitting at the pool and exploring the town. This weekend was exactly what we needed. Everything was fantastic!! Thanks to the staff, we will be back again next year.

Pleasantly Surprised

It was great for our visit to South Haven. Surprised with the wonderful breakfast, conversation and directions from the staff. The room was lovely. We even found some sea glass on the beach. The pool was an added treat. We will be back for another visit. The cookies at night were great!
