Sag Harbor, New York is a small quaint village in only two square miles. Even though tiny the town comes with a past rich in history. The earliest settlers of Sag Harbor were Algonquin Indians and they called Sag Harbor "the land or place at the end of the hill" which was true at that time. Sag Harbor really is made up of hills, streams, meadows, and swamps and even the neighboring villages tagged Sag Harbor as the Great Meadows. This wonderful town is blessed with small hills that rise from the shore at 0.3 miles towards the inlands and its hills are dominant with red and scarlet oak trees with pitch and white pines in between. The ecosystem is complete with dunes and wetlands and bay shores. Sag Harbor is famous for its unique shops which outnumber the chain businesses. Highlights include a casual café and a small family-run pizza place called Conca Doro pizzeria. There are Hampton chain stores though like The Golden Pear Café, Bookhampton, and Calypso. Try to visit the Cilli Farm, a reserve refuge for flora and fauna, and do not forget to try the Sag Harbor bed and breakfasts.
